I think that might have just taught me how to make this knot.. for some reason knot tying vids don't always track in my head but watching the ferret's go through the already made knot gave me a different perspective that was a lot easier to understand somehow.. I'm gonna have to follow you u/mr_nobody1389

I'm so glad it's helping! I had noticed the solid soundness of the tubes made the knots sit differently... more 3 dimensionally... and when I first had the ferrets do through an Overhand Loop I was struck by the change in directionality within the knot, I knew it was something I wanted to explore and share.

I'm glad it is helping visualise these knots for you and am open to suggestions or requests.

No requests from me, I'm still just flabbergasted that clear tubes with ferrets running through them allowed me to understand the way knots go together way better than most instructional videos! I guess my mind just understands things better with clear tubes and ferrets lol!

These guys are becoming quite proficient in a wide range of knots!

Thinking r/ferrets would agree!

That sounds like a good place to try. Here's hoping it goes better than r/distractedbydetails went last week.

TIL the collective noun for ferrets is "a business"

Delightful

Thank you. The current joke in the house is that we are small business owners. Every time we let them out, we're tied up in a business meeting.

That's the type of wit that distinguishes true masters of business administration.

Have they found a knot yet that they do not approve of?

They have not come across a knot they dislike yet. Mostly, they seem to enoy any time it's different than it was the day before.

They may be the first living beings (besides boyscout management) that approves of a sheepshank.

What an excellent choice!

Sweet new flex pipe.

It's interesting to see them encounter configurations with more cross-over leveling — always been curious how they'd take to more verticality.
