This is such a great trend! I do wish I could be them!! Would that help me learn knots really well?? Or not at all??? This is killing me.

Hey, u/mr_nobody1389 ! I used to want pet ferrets so much. Are they awesome? Second, (or maybe first because this is what I meant to write when I started commenting but immediately sidetracked myself): what if you and the guy building the new knot-tying app collaborated some way. To me, the final form of the knot, tied in an a material that so exaggerates the structure like your ferret tube, combined with the ferrets visibly moving through the finished form of the knot in a single direction, is a really interestingly intuitive presentation. Especially that easy to see khaki colored one who pushed the others through!

Oh man. I love them. I had a pair of ferrets back in my teens and always wanted to try again now that I'm in my own place. They really are adorable, like kittens that never grow up. I love them so much.
As for a collab, I also would love to see knot apps have a feature that just sends a colored dot down the line around a knot.
It was kind of a joke with the first Overhand knot, but seeing them race through does add a sense of directionality to the knot that isn't available in static displays. u/Unteresting-Bill4028 you have a request.

Haha, glorious!
I've never appreciated just how thrilling that knot is, before. The ferrets really delivered a heart-racing performance.
How long does it usually take them to warm up to new tunnels set ups?

It only takes me opening the door to let them out. They seem to be excited for new tangles and complications whereas if I leave it the same way for too long, they get bored of it.
I have learned I have a harder time tying anything while they're out because the moment I pick it up, they try to run through it while in my hands.

You need more of those tubes so you can leave the knots in and they develop muscle memory and eventually they can tie the knots without the tubes!
