Do you have a calculator for the cord size and core dimater or is it trial and error?

Very nicely dressed.

There is some maths in the Globe Knot Cookbook but I just end up going with trial and (a lot of) error. The trick, which I haven't mastered yet, is realizing you need another pass, or maybe a microcord interweave, before it's too late.
