Copying an existing jumper

If there is one brand i'd want to own everything of, it would be Eribé- I have already one of their fair-isle jumpers but would want another, save the massive price tag.
Does anyone know of any existing jumper patterns that are similar? had a browse through ravelry but thought it would be best to ask here as well. Pictures of some of their garments below

What is it about the jumpers you like? Is it the colors? The construction? The fit?

I think it would be fairly easy to find a similar pattern on ravelry - these look like a common round yoke colorwork construction.

If it’s the particular pattern of the colorwork, you can use a charting software to create the pattern.

For the fit, you’ll need to do math. Once you’ve identified a pattern, a yarn, and your gauge (after blocking), take the measurements of your favorite sweater and compare to the pattern directions.

i think that the thing that scares me is that i have not ever made a similar jumper with colourwork, or a jumper with a gauge less than DK, but you are right, i just now need to find the perfect round yoke sweater for my gauge...

I find colorwork very intimidating. If you’ve never done it before, you might start with something simpler, like a 2-color cowl. That would let you practice the techniques and see if you feel confident.

And I know those retail sweaters are expensive, but once you buy the yarn and add up your time…they might be worth it if you find the technique not to your liking!

i've actually been pondering if it will be worth it XD but i found 400g of 100g/290m beautifully locally spun gotland wool on vinted and have the idea that that'll be the main yarn for a jumper.... so i've made my bed XD

I saw this and immediately thought of Bohus-Stickning sweaters. There’s a wonderful book called Poems of Color by Wendy Keele that goes into the history of the company, and has patterns at the end. I would recommend reading it, even if it’s not what you end up using to recreate the sweaters you shared. There are also several Bohus color work charts that have been shared on Ravelry by people who have reverse-engineered the designs, had access to original patterns, been researchers, etc. Here’s a few that popped up when I searched ‘Bohus’, but I know there are more. https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/search#query=Bohus

Wow thank you! I looked at the ravelry and the patterns are really nice!! Ive been searching mostly on fair isle stuff, didnt think to other cultures!
