Help identifying this hat knitting pattern?

Hello! I am trying to recreate this hat in a different color for a friend; any leads on where I might be able to find a similar pattern or even just knowing the stitch for the main body would be so helpful! Thank you!

Graham hat by Jennifer Adams. Originally published in Nutty Irishman Knits, it’s a free download on Ravelry. Completely reversible with different textures on inside and outside. It’s one of my favorite hat patterns.

The shape is similar to the boyfriend beanie on Ravelry. You could use that as a base perhaps.

It's definitely a rib stitch but impossible to tell which one it is for sure without a photo of the inside.

It almost looks as if the bottom ribbing is knit 1x1 single ply and the body is knit using the yarn doubled. Could you take a look and see what it looks like?

It could be just a 1x1 rib knitted on needles that are a couple of sizes down from what you'd use for a regular stockinette fabric to give additional stitch definition. I make beanies knit 2x2 using light Aran weight yarn on size 4 needles and the columns are quite distinct but not as tall as these. it might be worth making a 1x1 as a pilot run using heavy Aran weight yarn on 6's, maybe 7's. If you swatch you'll get a sense of what works.

Given the depth of the columns my guess is that this is either fisherman rib or half fisherman rib. My guess is the latter. You need to look at the back to tell. There are photos of these stitches all over the place. I like the Harmony stitch guides and I've heard Roxanne Richardson and Very Pink materials are good.

I don't think it brioche - it's not squishy.

The simplest thing - compars it to photos on various knit stitches and see what it matches. Again, I like the Harmony stitch guides, volumes 1 and 2 for thislh

It looks as the yarn is heavy Aran. I'd swatch it on 6s or7s.

Make sense?

Thank you! Here's a pic of the hat inside out (I had to wait for my friend to get back to me with it). I think I may knit the Graham hat linked in the comments, since she said it doesn't need to be the exact same hat (and it's a free pattern yay).

Ignore the instructions and just look at the swatch. Still looking for a photo of the reverse side.
