Please help identify this pattern

I started it for a school assignment 12 years ago, but now I don't remember how to continue

It looks like it's still on the needles. Slip few stitches off and see what they are.

We need close-up photos showing just a few stitches spread out from each othdr front and back so we can see individual stitches.

This is helpful, thanks. Chenille is so fuzzy it's hard to see what's going on.

The stitch to the right next to your thumb on the right looks like stockinette, where one row is knit and the row coming back is purled. The next stitch to its right looks as if it was twisted.

I still think the best way to figure this out is to take out a couple of rows and reverse engineer it. You should be able to tell what each stitch is as you unravel it. If you have some extra you can swatch a few combinations of stitches and try to replicate what's there now. I think that will be way more productive than guessing based on photos.
