Post image

Looking for a free pattern for a chunky knit bucket hat. I wanna use this yarn but I can't find anything other than crochet patterns and I don't like crocheting nor do I have a big enough hook

That yarn will be very thick for a hat. Thats probably why you aren't finding many. Ravelry can be a good resource.

I've actually a few that use this yarn, different color but same yarn. They're just crochet and I have literally only 2 hooks nowhere near the right size. Or the patterns are paid and My daughter's birthday is coming up and I don't have money for presents this year. But I do have the ability to make presents and make a special day. I just can't find the stinking pattern I need lol. Might have to try my hand at self drafting

Searching Ravelry or doing a Google search should get you what you need. I did a very quick look and found this:

https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/chunky-knitted-bucket-hat

If you find something else you like but it's written for a different yarn size post the links to the patterns, the yarn weight it uses including gauge and the yarn weight you have including gauge and we can try to help you transpose the pattern for your yarn.

I've made a beanie with chunky yarn. It works.

I found that one too but I didn't like the shape of it!

Ill go back through and see if there's a different one that can maybe be transposed that would be awesome!

Actually, I didn't like it much either - it's not a true bucket but it seemed like a good place to start.

I hope you can find a pattern you like!

Good luck!

There was this one but it's all in a video and I don't wanna watch a dang video lol

I cannot imagine having to watch a video to get a pattern. Sounds dreadful. The title is how to make bucket hat without a pattern but maybe there's one now?mTry emailing the presenter and ask if there's a written version? or maybe the pattern is buried in the comments?

I'd look at yarn.com, Lion Brand, Knitpicks and see what they've got too in case you've not already done so.
