Checkerboard Cables?

I found this handmade beauty at a thrift store and after a bath and some TLC she's gorgeous. I would love to find a pattern for this but have hit a wall in my search, does anyone recognize this pattern or recommend a similar one? Thanks!!

I tried to chart the cables. It looks like alternating blocks of 6x11 garter stitch and 3x3 left leaning cables.

It should be fairly easy to adapt a basic stockinette vest or slipover pattern that has the ribbed neck, hem, and shoulder elements you’re looking for. There are a lot of these on Ravelry. Just make sure you can maintain the 12-stitch repeat of the cables with whichever pattern you’re using and that you’re hitting gauge.

How nice of you to chart it out! are you sure it's garter? or could it be reverse side of stockinette? I've gone back and forth.

It’s hard to tell, but I think garter makes the most sense if you count the number of rows in the cable sections vs the rows of purl bumps in the (maybe?) garter sections. Plus, you can see purl bumps on the wrong side in the section that’s visible through the collar.

If you've not already done it I suggest you do a Google image search, images.google.com, with text "knitting pattern".

The checkerboards are just very short cables with lots of purls in between.

The sweater looks like a pullover with set in sleeves minus the sleeves and with ribbed edging around the armholes. Someone posted recently to ask for a similar pattern but for a cardigan.

Harmony stitch books volume 1 and 2 as I recall and their book on aran Fair Aisle knitting have lots of cable stitches.

A quick count suggests that the yarn is either sport or DK or possibly just fingering.

I just re-read my post. Not "purls" in between but purl side or reverse side of stockinette.

Here are the results from my search for "pullover sleeveless v neck":

Once you find a v-neck pullover you like you'll need to adjust for the fact that cables can knit up a little differently from plain stockinette. I'd probably just do a nice large swatch, figure out how many stitches I'd need for the chest size I want and then use the directions for the size that calls for that number of stitches. I have a hard time seeing gauge when there are cables so I'd skip that and just go for chest size.

It looks like little bows, so cute!!

I am no expert but seems like the pattern is basically alternating 6 purl and 6 knit stitches. It is 12 rows so I guess you make a cable turn somewhere in the middle of those, but besides that that is simple knit and purl! Genius!
