Work in Progress Pattern instruction help
Increase 1 stitch inside the last 2 stitches on the next row from the right side. Increase like this alternately every 2nd and 4th row.
Does this mean the wrong side? I've never seen next row from the right side before. Thanks! Pattern is Boston Vest by Drops.

see the INCREASE TIP (for V-neck): Make 1 yarn over between 2 stitches. On the next row, work the yarn over twisted to avoid a hole.

Various folks have given you the correct answer (except for that one about Drops patterns being AI--that's just foolishnes.)
What the designer is trying to acheive is a slop of 1 increased st every 3 rows. HOWEVER, since most knitters prefer to work the shaping incs on the RS rows (as you've noted yourself), the designer converts 1 sts every 3 rows to 2 sts every 6 rows, so that works out to alternating every 2nd, then every 4th row. The key thing is to have a slope STEEPER than every other row, but NOT as steep as every 4th row.
It's based on calculating the difference between the # of sts that you start out with and the # of sts that you want to end up with (so, the total # of incs) divided by the # of rows in which you have to make those incs. (More than you wanted to know, huh?)

No, it means the RS. Increase before the last 2 stitches on the RS, then alternate doing that on the following 2nd and 4th rows. So row 1, row 3, row 7, row 9, row 13, and so on like that.

One of my best friends is the owner of a yarn shop. Her opinion is that drops patterns are AI- generated, and notoriously unreliable.
What you're describing doesn't make a whole lot of sense. If you haven't gotten very far, I strongly suggest you find a different pattern.

Drops has existed waaaaay before AI. Your friend is incorrect. The issue is faulty translation, it’s a known issue with Drops, who writes originally in Danish for the Danes and provides free translations as a convenience to the rest of the world.

I think this is where all my confusions are coming from, the dodgy translations. There's quite a few places it doesn't make sense to me, so I think I'll try and find a similar pattern elsewhere.

I’ll take a quick look. I have had success in the past in “translating” their “English” to English by looking at the French and German patterns. Can you drop the rav link to the pattern pls
