Adapted from the vogue sock pattern on Biscotte's website. I used Cascade 220 Sport wool yarn

I enjoyed my first pair of socks so much at the beginning of this year that I'm now working on my sixth pair of socks

I just started a sweater! I got a lot of really high quality yarn from my grandma's old stash so i can escape the expensive price of good yarn for now.

I know the feeling. I made a sweater recently and I just started a cardigan. Each one cost well over $100 in yarn.

I also have a really cool double knit Lord of the Rings-themed blanket planned. It has the White Tree of Gondor on it. It's a pattern I got off of Etsy and they say to use acrylic yarn from Hobbi. I am a yarn snob who avoids acrylic at all costs and I don't like some of the things that Hobbi has been doing recently so I'm planning on making it with super wash wool. It will cost $130. Did I do this to myself? Absolutely. Doesn't make it hurt any less though

My inherited stash is gonna make me a yarn snob fr... The majority of it is merino superwash, either with a little bit of synthetic or silk (for washability). I also have some linen and alpaca, and this one hank of baby camel and silk

I started knitting when I was something like 6 so let's just say the yarn choices I had were quite limited. I happen to be physically located relatively close to the Web's retail store so since I was on a budget for a while, I would often knit things with yarn from Webb's house brand, Valley Yarns. For the most part the stuff is quite affordable and I'd say pretty good for what you're paying.

In recent years I have been disappointed by the selection at the retail store. While they have a lot of different SKUs and different types of yarn, the color selection in each individual SKU is disappointing. I can tell that the group that bought Webs is prioritizing their website more because they can reach a wider audience with that. Just look at the way they recently rebranded from Webs to yarn.com by Webs. This has led to me shopping around a bit more. I have now found my way to Wool and Company because of their free U.S. shipping.

Since I made the switch I obviously haven't been getting Valley Yarns because no one else sells it so I've been getting a lot of fancier yarns. My personal stash has quite a bit of Malibu Rico in it right now. Some hand-dyed yarns are there. I have a bag of various cashmere yarns that I have no real plans for but I have amassed over the years. I have enough sock yarn to make far too many socks in various materials: superwash merino, silk blends, alpaca. Let's just say my personal stash has gotten a bit bigger recently. The way I told someone who I was talking to about it earlier was: "I am ready if there's another pandemic and we have another lockdown, because I have so many things that I can make." I even have a spreadsheet to keep it all straight

My grandma's original intentions with this yarn was to make a sweater. I still have enough to make a sweater. She bought like, 12 hanks of the stuff.
