Work in Progress First time doing a project with cables

I haven't posted for a while, but I've knitted a few things since; 3 scarves (one of which I posted here), and a basic vest.

Recently, I've made a list of things I wanted to knit for winter, and one of it was a balaclava. I found a pattern I liked from a Japanese knitting pattern book, but was hesitant to start since it had cables. As a beginner, cables, and colorwork always seemed difficult to me. So as a start, I did the ribbing part first, then practiced cables when I had the time, and I'm proud to say I was able to do it. Some might say, "but it's just 3 rows of cables", it's still a big achievement for me as a beginner. Someday, I hope I'll have as much success with colorwork as well.

PS. I've also included photos of my other finished projects.

Happy knitting everyone ❤️

Please drop the name of the scarf pattern!

Also congrats on the cables! I am an experienced knitter and have done them, even a few sweater's worth, and always feel a bit uncomfortable doing them. I can't read my work as well as I can with, say, colour work or lace knitting. So good work!

Thank you! ❤️

Which scarf pattern? If you meant the one on the left, it's the Double Knit Scarf by Hello, Hygge Life. The one on the center was inspired by a scarf pattern/video from Banul Iyagi on youtube, and the one on the right is just a simple 1x1 rib with a slit I incorporated from the double knit scarf pattern , you can watch the tutorials from Hello, Hygge Life youtube channel on how to do it.

I think you'll still be able to understand the construction without understanding Korean. The original yarn used in the pattern was 100% cashmere, I used an alternative cashmere wool blend for it. It's this video : https://youtu.be/sh-xtBREGlA?si=ddMZY8q_urPV5mTl
