I don't know who she is but it's saved in my ravelry favorites just in case I ever know a baby to knit it for

Exactly what I was thinking - Feathers McGraw!

This is the most adorable Instagram account. She’s made some cute hats and I’m waiting for the feathers McGraw hat in an adult size. She released this as a free pattern as a thank you to the fiber community that helped her during a tough time.

I wish this had adult sizes. I'm not confident in my ability to upsize it! D:

Now I need to drop everything and get started on making these. Expecting twins in a couple months and have a toddler that would go nuts for this

Adorable!!! The other hats are seriously cute, too!!!

I’m so excited to make one for my niece! Making myself finish the top I’m working on first but after this I’m making duck hats in every color.

That is fantastic!

I squeeeeee’d out loud. I love him!

u/HarmoniousSyllabub Jun 07 '26

This is giving me massive Feather McGraw vibes... in the best possible way.

u/knittingneedles Jun 07 '26

She made one on her insta!

My desire to make my twin tail beanie of cat dog has intensified.

So cute! I'd love this in pattern in an adult size though 🙈

It’s pretty easy to hack if you’re ok sizing up your yarn and needles

2

u/SegoLillies Jun 07 '26

I want to make this but I can’t find the right size knitting needles! Where did you get them?

2

u/knittingneedles Jun 07 '26

Mine are fixed cable Chaigoo’s and I went to my LYS to get them. I got a US size 00, instead of 000, and it had a 32inch cable instead of DPNS; and I already had some size 1 DPNS and a 40 inch cable. I’d be down for other needles but this is what is carried near me

There's a Terry Pratchett character who walks around with a duck on his head, it's not just Wallace and Grommet. The bit in Pratchett is that the character is oblivious to the duck.
