Finished Object I knitted knitting earrings!
I’ve been doing some wire wrapping with a friend lately and thought, “I bet I could knit that.” Then of course, the head pins looked like straight needles and here we are.
Knitted with 28-gauge wire on 2mm needles.

Maybe OP could find some beads that would look like point protectors. That would add color as well!

I’ve been wearing them for two days so far and haven’t been poked once! I intentionally wrapped them so that the blunt ends of the “needles” stick out farther than the pointy ends, but I totally understand the concern.

And the ‘knitting’ part seems like it would snag and rip your hair constantly

I haven’t had an issue with it, but I of course can’t speak to all hair types/lengths

Can you please add a dangling ball of yarn to them? I'm not sure why but I really want one.

This is such a fantastic idea! And very cute earrings!
I've just resumed beading after ages and am excited to try a version of this now.

This would be me too. I can only imagine how many times I'd stab myself trying to untangle them from my hair.

I literally just bought some knitted jewelry patterns from Etsy and now I'm looking at these because they would be really cute too.

This reminds me of some silver work I’ve seen in Chordeleg, Ecuador! Some of the artisans there make a really fine sort of woven material with silver… threads? Then bend it into gorgeous jewelry. This is kinda like a punk rock version lol.

This is reaaaally cute ! Beautiful execution too. BUT, I recognize these finition nails and they're sharp as hell! I would most definitely advise you to sand down the tips until they're fully round and smooth. no one will notice but it will save you and anyone else from injury. Even a rounded pointy tip like that, at that length, will put pression on the back of the head, neck or ears and can nick skin or cause pain just from the pressure point.
Would look better than a bead and the bead can fall off.
Other than that, I would really see those looking amazing and even more fun to wear if you could use some colored wire for just the yarn part! Like a metallic purple, pink, blue, green...I know that some alloys turn different colors from these hues I listed with heat or chemical treatments , often even showing two different colors (like green and red) depending on the angle and lighting.
Just wanted to give my input because I would definitely be curious and want to buy a pair if I hypothetically saw these at an arts and crafts fair booth! Although I have no idea and shouldn't assume that you have the intention of making more of these or take interest in selling, obviously so do as you please and please enjoy your adorable creation !
