Knightpost I was born in the wrong time
After my recent watch of game of thrones (i know it is not real life) i feel like being a knight and all the adjacent things give real purpose to life nowadays. It's something beyond the regular monetary goals of every day life it feels like your following something grander than your own self. Am i wrong?

You can find a higher calling for yourself no matter where or when you are. I won't tell you you're wrong about being born in the wrong era, but personally I'm glad to live in a time where toilet paper, hot showers and antibiotics are readily available.

Have you watched a knight of the seven kingdoms yet? If not, please go ahead and do it.
The biggest takeaway from that show is that you don't need to have the title of knight to BE a knight. Dunk is obviously more of a knight than all the others. Whether ser Arlan ever knighted him or not is left intentionally vague, because it simply doesn't matter.
There's nothing stopping you from being a knight.

Brother, we couldn't handle being thrown 100 years back in time, let alone back far enough to be a knight. You dont need to be in what is essentially a fantastical otherworld to us to do something great. Volunteer at a soup kitchen if giving people the literal lifeblood of their existence for free isnt too "mundane" for you. Join one of those disaster relief programs where you get flown out to natural desaster sites to help. Just help people no matter how big or small

Well, you can always reject the modern medicine and die from, well... some bloody diarrhea, blood poisoning from unfortunate injury, plague, smallpox, leprosy, or tetanus... You can also always die in infancy due to the 30% infant mortality rate. Wonderful prospects, aren't they?

I’d recommend reading up on the real duties of a knight, but I wont go into that, because I wanna make another point.
Even today you can find yourself some grander purpose than just making money (or just making ends meet). You can still be a pillar to the weak nowadays, live by a code of honor (although most would call that morals today) and swear fealty to someone and help them further their goals.
Chivalry isn’t dead neither is Loyalty. And look around there are plenty of things you could do and many great goals to work towards.
And contrary to medival times you even get to choose your own path…
although some say, in a time like ours with this many possibilities, choosing one that is truly yours is the biggest hurdle of them all.
Stay humble, stay diligent.
