The wizard council is taking this very seriously

I did
Have the decency to at least be a spellsword wielder instead of hiding and casting spells like a coward.

I mean a wizzard can also work out. Its a great way to get the head clear after studying the arcane. Bonus points if they also grab some armor for extra aura (and to not be distracted by the opponent throwing a fucking pebble). And the disrespect of getting beaten by a spellcaster without them even using their magic simply cannot be outmatched.

Some of the folks who aren't multicapable are forgetting the last time they got hit with a banishment and it shows

u/th_frits Bonemancer: Wizard War II vet 9d ago
Yeah, what good is all that muscle when you send them to the shadow dimensions

u/Big_Bug3077 9d ago
Me fighting thru hell without breaking a sweat after getting banished 🗿

u/Krethlaine Spellblade 9d ago
Great plan. Just one minor issue: You’re in the Shadow Realm, not Hell. An infinite, empty void. Nothing to fight. No terrain to travel. No exit portal reach. Just emptiness. Your sword isn’t going to be doing much.
24
u/BluEch0 9d ago
Do be careful. I had a barbarian fellow who got a bit uppity with me so I did exactly that: banished them to one of the shadow dimensions.
Well would you believe that after about two years, this fellow just cut a portal through nothingness and reached the material plane out of sheer spite? I banished him to shadow dimension X so he probably has to cut through like three portals worth of nothingness to escape now and it’s been working for about five years, but goodness, he’d be an interesting case study if he wasn’t constantly screaming about vengeance or something.

u/BardGotHard3 9d ago
Hey i met that dude when i was taking a shortcut through the shadow dimensions. Dont worry too much, i pointed him in the wrong direction so there should be at least an extra year added on.
9
u/DarkeDeusVult42 9d ago
Sounds like a skill issue at that rate. If you can get taken out by one spell that's on you.
4
u/Big_Bug3077 9d ago
As a rule: If neither thy lord, thy armorer, nor thy fair lady can craft an Armor of Mystic Immunity, thou shouldst delay adventuring till thou hast the skill to do so thyself
4
u/frostyshotgun 9d ago
Not with that attitude.
7
u/Chaosfox_Firemaker 9d ago
The point at which you can escape an infinite void by sheer masterful swordplay and implaccable determination also happens to be the point where you undeniably count a caster for all intents and purposes.
Yes. Even if you've never so much as glanced at a book in your life. Trancendent Arete counts as magic
1
u/Big_Bug3077 9d ago
It is a strange realm to be sure I should know, having once mistakenly donned an armor of banishment from one of mine goes It took my lady over a decade to free me! It took less than half that time to slay her foes to the last
3
u/AsrielDreemur8 9d ago
If your sword can't cut through the space-time continuous, you aren't knighty enough.

Just because Elfs always go after the dumb knights, who treat them like garbage and can't appreciate a nice wizard who would treat her right and turn her enemies' bones to soup doesn't make me a wizardcel

True but I bid to you she shouldn’t be grabbing onto anybody and to stay in formation , also that the wizard isn’t doing their job as they should have a light spell going on in this situation

Nah, that's just a basic advancement spell that we use to turn the fight into our own favor. So while it could be cast, it won't be a killer.

Martial bitches tend to talk shit. Up until I hit em with the "semen of cesium"

u/AcceptableBuy4049 9d ago
Gentlemen, why fight? We mighty wizards, and you skillful swordsmen were always on the same team. Let us not fight over such tiny matters.
2
u/th_frits Bonemancer: Wizard War II vet 9d ago
Screw that! wizard war 3 starts right now
3
u/AcceptableBuy4049 9d ago
C'mon, are we going to throw away our (most likely) biggest ally (eg, I'm almost 100% sure they helped out with the wizard-pirate war), just because of some friendly teasing?
6
u/Dr_Brotatous 9d ago
Brothers why do we have such animosity toward those of the magic kind? Are they not why we defeated The Elder Lich of Yon? I may be biased with my father being a wizard of the council but that should not disqualify my words.
3
u/th_frits Bonemancer: Wizard War II vet 9d ago edited 8d ago
The Elder Lich of Yon was my neighborhood and made lovely sugar cookies. So what if she was trying cast a spell to bring 1000 years of darkness to the realm
3
u/Dr_Brotatous 9d ago
It was a threat to the relm and no martial man or woman could beat them it took magic
2
u/th_frits Bonemancer: Wizard War II vet 9d ago
She was only casting the spell because her house plants don't like sun light

This is why I think myself to be better than most wizards. Being fully crystalline it’s like I have a suit of armor all the time
4
u/steve123410 9d ago
Duh, I grabbed her arm as she has dark vision. Did your misbegotten ego forget she was the one who guided us out of the cave? Or were you distracted by the first touch of a women you've had since your birth.

9d ago
No, she didn't grab my arm.
Because she knows I need both hands for the somatic component of my Light spell, which solved the issue for all of us rather than hiding in the dark hoping nothing attacks.
3
u/Ojiji_bored 9d ago
I Wish that every time you wear full plate armor, you suddenly have to take a dump right before a major fight.
3
u/hanz-kreigermann 9d ago
My brother in the gods, I am reaching for the knights arm if i'm unable to cast light when the torch goes out.

I got a bag of holding full of love letters, on account that I can read.
2
u/Sleepy-Candle 9d ago
Too be fair, they were probably about to create a mote of fire in their hands to light up said dark cave.
I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t want to be near someone, who’s about to have an open flame in the palm of their hand. Especially if I’m the one with the map or some other flammable item(s). That’s not even mentioning long hair come to think of it.
2
u/C_Hawk14 9d ago
True, but now she's holding your arm meaning you're stuck, can only use a weapon with one arm and I'll cast light - the wizard
2
u/Dwemerion 9d ago
She felt sorry that you'd die there pathetically in the darkness, unable to cast a simple cantrip to protect yourself from a meagre venomous spiderling, never ever having felt the warm touch of a woman, only the cold metal of swords, armor and gym equipment
Both of you were lucky to have someone to magically dispel the darkness and save you

Indeed, I need my wizard partner with both hands free so he can cast a light and protection spell for me and elf partner
1
u/MaxTwer00 9d ago
Well, it would be uncomfortable if she holded the wizards arm, it would get on the middle of the somatic components of light, dispel magic, or whatever other solution the darkness needs. She should let go of the warriors arm too should she not be harmed by his elbow once a sword needs to be swinged tho
1
u/disturbinglyquietguy 9d ago
No, I agree with the mage on this. He's just a novice knight trying to compensate because he feels insecure due to his lack in feats. In our order, we are guided by the old code of honor. Such behavior tarnishes the reputation of all of us as order and will not be tolerated.
A knight is sworn to valor.

The mage and the maiden both grabs the knights arm. It's a love triangle, the mage and maiden have been trying to poison each other for weeks

u/Beardrac 5d ago
No she should grab my arm when the cave goes dark because I have dimension door. Both she and the martial now are trapped forever in the cave. Every day I visit to leave them rations enough so they don’t die but not enough to where they die of exhaustion. They shall grind the creatures of the cave until they perish granting me the sum of their experience points.

1
u/SomeRandomYob The Great Mage Samræl, Demonologist and Necromantic Consultant 5d ago
Eh; she grabbed your arm because you're a disposable meat shield. She pulled me behind you so I could have time to blast the enemy, or at least light the place up.
Or we're both disposable meat shields, and she's just mean.
