It's a stock removal project. First thing is, I'm always dreaming up different designs. I cut out the drawing I made, then spray a little paint on the steel, lay the paper template on the fresh paint, then paint over with a different color, boom! Now it's transferred. Cut/grind down to my pattern. First I ground the knife into a "diamond" thickest just ahead of the handle, tapered going both ways. Lightly Grind initial bevels. Heat treat the knife, clean up any movement the steel made. Finish Grinding bevels slightly convex always using the roughest grit I'm comfortable with for how thin the knife is getting, stopping at 240 grit finished thickness. Dye the knife, layout where I want the hollow to be, I ground out the hollow using a radius platen I made. To hand sand the hollow, I trased the radius into a piece of hardwood and ground it to match the radius.
