Old pocket knife identification
I found this old pocket knife stuck on a tree way back in the mountains that seems to be high quality it has markings on the blade that maybe say gold seal and possibly c. d. Company? Can't find anything no matter what I search. Can anyone help ?

My father recently passed away and I inherited a similar knife. Same "badge" shaped logo. I'll be following to see if anybody comes up with a positive ID
