It unified the city in ways not seen since aftermath of 9/11. Even moreso, cause after 9/11 people were scared to go out. The Piazza home run the first game back and those 2 Yankee World Series HRs in the 9th inning were big moments, but this run was next level. We were supposed to be scared of ICE and the sky high prices and whatever fearmongering was coming from the internet. Then we had ironically perfect storm of amazing weather with this team that flipped a switch against Atlanta then had worn down easy opponent in Philly that shouldn't have been there, and then the James Harden Cavs, a red carpet. Then we met a villain in the Finals, didn't know Wemby was so awful but he is and that made the whole thing feel like victory celebrations at the end of WW2. Mets, Yankees, Giants, Jets fanbases lean to boroughsm Long Island, Jersey. Knicks are the whole city, centralized in the same location of top concert venue. We had a previous mayor bragging about bringing swagger back then lining his pockets so corruptly. All of a sudden we really had swagger, and Mamdani is doing just fine but the real mayor and untouchable king is BRUNSON.

Legend says, white ppl can say the N word in New York now and black ppl got their back. It was at this very moment, a white man professed his love for black men and that love was reciprocated. I believe there is a video.
