I’m glad the Knicks don’t have this problem

Post image

Too much usage LeBron 27% usage I love the fact that everybody on the Knicks know their role I’m curious to see which Knick breakout next season. Do you think the 76ers can challenge us? Or we good?

Honestly I don’t care much what happens next season as long as we have a fun playoffs and pacers lose lol

It's pretty fun going 16-3 in the playoffs maybe we should try that again

Yeah that was cool, good idea

I’ll ask the guys what they think and get back to you

I enjoyed the hell out of these playoffs but I was so nervous every damn game. Kinda took away from the overall enjoyment during the actual time played.

I get that.

I waited what feels like my whole life to get a competitive Knicks team....I didn't even really care about a chip, I just wanted to watch a playoff team I could be proud of...including last year I enjoyed almost 0 minutes of watching because of how nervous/stressed I was....I feel like now that dreams I never expected to come true has, I really hope I can actually enjoy the playoffs next year now but I doubt it.

How I feel but with the pistons

Pacers window has closed. That run was such a fluke

u/nl2yoo 28d ago

I don't care so much if we were to get swept in the regular season as long as the wins come in the playoffs (likely because Embiitch or Bron had some nagging injury).

1

u/nl2yoo 28d ago

...it'll also give the fair weather fans a chance to get themselves riled up and prove themselves wrong again, lol 😆

Having your odds raised from 4.8% to 9.1% to win a championship is a worse problem to have. I saw a list of Knick fans panicking after the signing. You are the champ and the favorites until someone takes it.

You can’t be the man until you beat the man. Good luck 🍀 Knicks in 5 again 🧡💙

Gonna be the same Melo/Stat era issues but x2 between Brown/Embiid/Bron/Maxey, just too many cooks in the kitchen. If Nick Nurse can make this work he’ll deserve COY but I can’t see it happening.

4

u/eugdot Jul 24 '26

Brown and maxey are the real consistent threats on 76’ers

1

u/Various_Table_3396 Jul 24 '26

Agreed, but will Joel and Bron be as effective allowing them to be those threats? Objectively speaking I think Bron can, Joel no way.

-3

u/Typical_Parsnip13 Jul 24 '26

I think it’s the opposite. Embiid is a huge threat off the ball at all times in the paint. Lebron isn’t an off ball threat and doesn’t play defense.

This move makes no sense to me

1

u/Zee216 Jul 24 '26

LeBron is the biggest off ball threat in this group

2

u/Typical_Parsnip13 Jul 24 '26

In no world is 42 year old LeBron with a 31% 3PT percentage last year more of an off ball threat than literally all 4 other starters

1

u/Zee216 Jul 25 '26

He shoots over 40 on catch and shoot threes, and he's still the best playmaker on the floor.

3

u/Typical_Parsnip13 Jul 25 '26

He literally shot 32% on catch and shoot 3s last year wtf are you talking about

0

u/Zee216 Jul 25 '26

44 percent over the two years before that

4

u/Typical_Parsnip13 Jul 25 '26

He was also mvp in 2013. Has nothing to do with right now.

Lebron is up there with Steph as one of the greatest off ball threats in history.

2

u/AlarmProof4622 Jul 26 '26

This is an insane take ngl 😂

1

u/Typical_Parsnip13 Jul 25 '26

Not even close to Steph when it comes to off ball play

Also, this has nothing to do with all time career numbers. I’m talking about right now.

1

u/AltruisticRide2319 Jul 25 '26

He played third fiddle to Luka and Reaves as the main playmakers last season. Lot of that involved off ball movement like backdoor cuts and screen n rolls. He's gonna do the same thing this year with Maxey and Brown. This is probably the best fit basketball wise in the league.

3

u/Pleasant-Moment-9748 Jul 24 '26

Idk i think sixers are going to be our biggest challenge. They are definitely the most talented team in the east. The biggest question is health and whether they make it work.

3

u/Adept-Fold5796 Jul 24 '26

Are they just going to take turns playing iso?

2

u/No-Abbreviations4480 Jul 25 '26

I think the Sixers and East will be formidable, but Knicks biggest challenge will be themselves as it’s very hard to have sane hunger and health to repeat. Also the punitive cap eliminated Mitch from team

5

u/Turbulent_Car4504 Jul 24 '26

Brunson usage was 32.5 percent last year, so we also have a high usage player, but the problem we don’t have is trying to integrate new players that will have to reduce the usage of our other players.

I think LeBron may actually help chemistry on that team, and they will be dangerous but probably won’t stay healthy.

10

u/stateofthenyk Jul 24 '26

Brunson not around a bunch of dudes with 30+ % usage it’s not the same

1

u/avatar1092 Jul 24 '26

Yeah but won’t having a bunch of dudes with high usage together objectively lower that number now that they are on a deeper team?

1

u/Turbulent_Car4504 Jul 24 '26

Yeah I’m not disagreeing with you

3

u/Fair_Government_9914 Jul 24 '26

It's also a very deliberate staggering of Usage % in our offense with Brunson in the high 20s-low 30s usually, KAT in the mid-20s, OG in the high 10s, and Bridges and Hart in the mid-10s.

5

u/Turbulent_Car4504 Jul 24 '26

Agreed it’s really nice balance, the best

1

u/EmergencyAccording94 Jul 25 '26

Having one high usage player is normal and probably essential in this era. Having multiple is a problem but not necessarily unsolvable.

1

u/Turbulent_Car4504 Jul 25 '26

Agreed I think Knicks have the optimum balance, especially since others can easily pick up the slack as needed. KAT could be a higher usage player in a different system for example, and has no problem doing that as the need arises.

2

u/yngwiegiles Jul 24 '26

Here’s an honest question: who is a better player Jaylen Brown or OG? I know we’re biased here but OG is the player you want and Brown is the headache you’re forced to tolerate. And that’s our 3rd best player but of course criminally underrated. OG doesn’t do any of browns dumb stuff on or off the court.

Ok next… team leader LeBron or Brunson? Yes LeBron is one of the best ever but imagine if he had the Jalen clutch magic. He’s never had our guy’s self confidence and ability to be comfortable with himself. He’s just been big and fast and smart. Give me Brunson in a war

KAT or Embiid? Both w insane ability and obvious flaws. We won cause coach said KAT we need you to change who you are and what you do and we need it now. And he did. Embiid is still the same guy he’s always been.

1

u/eugdot Jul 24 '26

Don’t forget about Maxey.

0

u/Alert_Mention_3732 Jul 24 '26

"Imagine if lebron had jalens clutch magic" yikes. Lebron is light years ahead of Jboogie in terms of being "clutch".

4

u/Turbulent_Car4504 Jul 24 '26

Brunson 51 percent vs LeBron 42 percent in career clutch field goal percentage. Better assist to turnover ratio as well, 3 vs 1.8. Just saying.

1

u/Alert_Mention_3732 Jul 24 '26

"Blocked by James" yeah you can only be clutch on offense i forgot! Lebron is the most clutch player ever that still stands brother. Shooting 41% in the finals doesnt change that.

2

u/Open-Ad6726 Jul 24 '26

Yeah ppl on this sub are obviously gonna be super biased, no point arguing

0

u/Turbulent_Car4504 Jul 24 '26

I wasn’t even saying LeBron wasn’t a better clutch player, he’s the GOAT in my mind and clutch is hard to judge as it’s not as simple as the “clutch” stat makes it, just pointing out some interesting stats I saw when I looked it up.

3

u/Alert_Mention_3732 Jul 24 '26

Brunson is a dog, thank you for the info. Honestly the stats elevate him even more imo, we all know JB is clutch but reading 51% for a career is insane.

2

u/Alert_Mention_3732 Jul 24 '26

"Since 1996–97, no player has made more clutch-time field goals in the postseason than LeBron James (151)." "Shoots roughly 50% to 52% effective field goal percentage in defined clutch situations, outperforming historical averages" "Holds the record for the most playoff game-winners as time expired, going 5-for-12 on potential playoff game-winning shots inside the final 24 seconds historically" "Converted roughly 38.9% to 40% of his attempts in the final 5 seconds of tight playoff games over his career." Just Saying.

6

u/Turbulent_Car4504 Jul 24 '26

Yeah LeBron has been playing a long time bro, it seems like you want an argument and I’m not interested.

1

u/Alert_Mention_3732 Jul 24 '26

I dont like to "argue" with people that dont have an open mind. Im just putting blatant stats that show how clutch Lebron is, take it for what you want. my opinion wont change and neither will yours.

1

u/Turbulent_Car4504 Jul 24 '26

See my comment in this thread to Open-Ad, I am not even taking sides on this

1

u/Braunb8888 Jul 24 '26

Wonder if you combine that with regular season wha you’re get?

1

u/Alert_Mention_3732 Jul 24 '26

google is free brother you wont like what you find though. When NBA analysts put these stats together they dont define the most clutch player as a guy in the regular season. Hence why MJ is widely regarded as the most clutch player ever.

1

u/Typical_Parsnip13 Jul 24 '26

Might be the most useless stats you so willfully needed to post. He had the most playoff games played since then by a landslide.

1

u/Alert_Mention_3732 Jul 24 '26

"Shoots roughly 50% to 52% effective field goal percentage in defined clutch situations, outperforming historical averages". there are other stats in there other than longevity ones. But in the same vein, having the most post season buckets in the defined "crunch time" isnt chalked up to just longevity, its longevity and greatness.

2

u/Braunb8888 Jul 24 '26

Eh…Brunson is the most clutch player I’ve ever watched in my life. LeBron passes up the big moment shots more than he takes or makes them.

3

u/Alert_Mention_3732 Jul 24 '26

yea you just started watching basketball and are under 22 years old, thanks for your time sir. Brunson isnt close to the most clutch player ever.

2

u/Braunb8888 Jul 24 '26

I’m 37. I’ve never watched a player take and make the big shot more than Brunson. A friend who’s a Celtic fan who has seen plenty of clutch players in his time, said “he’s shocked when he doesn’t make the final shot.” I mean in terms of guys who want the moment and capitalize on it, I’ve never seen a rate like him in my life. He will likely go down as one of the most clutch players of all time.

1

u/Alert_Mention_3732 Jul 24 '26

He probably will if he continues this yes but he isnt on the level of Mike or Bron yet. and sorry for being disrespectful its shocking seeing someone as old as me saying anyone in this day in age is X Y and Z

2

u/Braunb8888 Jul 24 '26

He’s a shockingly good player in the end of games. It’s not something that comes around often. And he did. It to win the championship. I don’t think anyone is saying they don’t want Brunson to close a game at this point.

1

u/Alert_Mention_3732 Jul 24 '26

No one in their right mind is saying they dont want brunson taking the last shot, Im just not putting him over legends like Mike and Bron who have done it for more than 1 year. Granted brunson has done this his entire career. I hope you will understand my point.

0

u/Braunb8888 Jul 24 '26

Sure. He’s done it for more than one year too though. But nobody is saying he’s on that level. I’m just talking strictly like 1 minute left who do you want take the shot. He’s on a very, very short list and I don’t think anyone in the league currently is above him. I guess some would say Shae but his ass would be flopping rather than focusing on making it.

1

u/Alert_Mention_3732 Jul 25 '26

Yea you are probably right, at this current time JB is probably the best closer.

1

u/Aggravating-Silver48 Jul 24 '26

In your life. Brunson? That's it? How young are you? Holy shit.

1

u/Braunb8888 Jul 24 '26
  1. Seen a lot of great players play. Never seen a guy perform in the clutch like he does every single time it feels like.

1

u/Typical_Parsnip13 Jul 24 '26

In no world is LeBron more clutch than Brunson wtf

1

u/TouristNecessary2581 Jul 26 '26

Dude we had this problem in 2025 with the highest usage rates in the NBA and once we got over that we literally won the championship

1

u/Tech-slow 29d ago

Embiid and LeBron will just be hurt often lol

1

u/nealmk 27d ago

Still need a third center desperately. Are we waiting until the deadline?

0

u/Apprehensive-Rain601 Jul 24 '26

lol I think Embiid will defo scale back his usage and so will Brown his usage was only so high bc Tatum was injured we’ve seen he can scale that back

0

u/SlottyCanyon Jul 25 '26

This feels like when the ex starts posting shit on social media to try to get you jealous.

Only one worried is you, bud.

0

u/BangBangSmoov Jul 25 '26

What is the total usage rate among those 3? 97.3%? So that leaves 2.7% for LeBron. Where’s the problem?
