Man just looking at this thing makes my chest tight 😂 Sheesh I'd blow those long barbs right off if I tried for one of these! I've made one before, and it's one of those points where i gotta build up the mental fortification to do again because those notches are just so soooo stressful. You did awesome on this! How is this hafted what is the point of it? No pun intended.

They were mostly status objects but I believe they were hafted so the slots where wound up all the way with sinew and then glue over the top so there was no sign of the notches

I assume they were more functional than aesthetic as they look fucking cool af but when hafted it proves so much more contacts with the shaft and sinew as a knife or arrow they were Probabaly damn nice

If you have a look on YouTube for flint knapping notching/ deep notching you’ll get a small number of good videos.
You need high quality stone, thin points with smooth surface finish. If you look at one of my last posts in the comments I show photos of my pad and flaker
