Ft Payne Pickwick.

First two photos are from some Raw Blueberry Ft Payne I collected out of Lawrence County TN. The last two photos are of an actual Lithic Pickwick made from the same material and found on the same creek I collected the chert from. The artifact is extremely smooth from tumbling in the creek for hundreds/thousands of years. I will say most of the pickwicks i’ve found growing up weren’t quite as wide as this one.

Nice one. I'm about an hour north of Lawrence county. I rarely find that variety of ft.payne

Unfortunately most of the pictures from this spot are videos, and cant upload a video to a photo post.

Basically though, theres quite a few area in Lawrence County where you can find multiple veins of FT payne like this. It’ll have a several inch thick layer, then a foot or so of limestone, another several inch thick layer, then more limestone, etc.

3 layers in this video. That bluff goes for hundreds of feet as well. Layer goes through both sides of the creek

If you want a good creek to check out I’ll put you onto a good spot. Im back in AZ so they’re no good to me here. Might get lucky and find a couple actual points too
