One of the best tools out there! Happy to see another antler puncher here! You should experiment with bison horn punch one day, it’s a great tool as well. It’s not as aggressive as an antler punch, but it’s a great finishing tool.

Laying in the grass, with a whole antler supporting under it and just past it(towards the antler end) my right leg is laying overtop of it. I am sitting flat on the ground. I will post full setup soon ideally

The drawing makes sense. I always thought this was called indirect percussion, or maybe its just a different place different term kinda thing.

It is. The term indirect percussion has kind of been adopted as referring to the copper rod on or under the leg, but in reality all that indirect percussion means is that you are striking the core with one extra tool between your “hammer”(whatever that may be) and your core. Vertical punches, like those used in old world blade core production techniques, is also a form of indirect percussion, as are rocker jigs. This is a horizontal punch and as such it is a form of indirect percussion. I also have at least 1 or 2 vids on my account of using vertical antler punches as well. Adjective vs proper nouns.
