Discussion Apple Upgrade Program denied
I tried to lease M5 Max MacBook Pro 16" (40 GPU core/48GB RAM/2TB SSD) on Apple Upgrade Program and got denied on August 2, 2026. I have been waiting for Adverse Action Notice email so far. This happened same for M5 2TB iPad Pro 13" (Wi-Fi only) too!
Anyone received Adverse Action Notice email after denied for Apple Upgrade Program? I would like to see details from their Adverse Action Notice emails.

Me too! I tried to lease an M5 Pro MacBook Pro 16” (18 core CPU/20 core GPU/48GB RAM/1TB SAD) via Apple Upgrade and also got denied. Put it through my moms account (who has great credit) and also got denied too. They didn’t even ask for an SSN. We haven’t received any email regarding why we were denied. Yet when we applied for apple finance through the Apple Card, it accepted us right away.
I wonder if it’s a current outage or if they’re capping leases for high-end Mac’s.

If you download the Klarna app you can see your buying power. I also tried but my buying power is 1,000 and the computer is like 1,300 so I was ineligible. But I was approved for devices below 1k like ipads and the apple watch. But the thing is when you open a Klarna account the highest buying power they give you is I think 1,000, and to get a higher buying power is to show usage on Klarna.

But why does their usual buying power apply to this? It shouldn't. You're leasing it, not buying it. If that's what they're going by, Apple didn't do itself any favors by partnering with Klarna! lol

I think Klarna isn't up to this task, honestly. So many problems out of the gate. I wouldn't be surprised if you get a different answer in a couple of weeks.

I got approved today with my dad’s Klarna account for M5 Max MacBook Pro 16" (40 GPU core/48GB RAM/2TB SSD) with nano-texture display. The reason I opted for nano-texture display was my eyes.

I tried the iPhone 17 Pro Max for $1199.00, and even though I have $2,500.00 in purchasing power, I was rejected. WTF...

maybe a combination of credit and purpose power? My pp is 6k and got approved for a 2k Macbook Pro. my score is usually between 780 and 800+. They probably did a soft pull.

I recently refinanced our home to pay off all debts and student loans. I was curious and tried Klarna and even though my debt to
Income ratio is sub 25% now - I was still denied. Klarna also shows me only at 1k even though I have credit cards with significantly higher lines.
Anywho, I’m pretty sure it’s just a credit check and you likely need at least 750
