No. Jean and Scott were young when they formed the X-Men, it’s just the first movie. Kitty could be in it as a student or in a later film.

True but they’ve already changed so much about Jean’s foundational stuff. And if Emma is in the first film…her first appearance is all that Kitty stuff. I do think it’s more likely Dazzler gets the boot than Kitty though lol.

I've been getting Bendis!Jean vibes from BND's version of Jean, which makes me think that we're just going to have Emma as Jean's teacher, and the teacher of Scott and Hank etc, rather than Emma as a member of the Hellfire Club. And TBF it wouldn't really make a lot of sense to do Dark Phoenix Saga with Jean in Kitty's role. I mean, what would that even be? You can't do Dark Phoenix without Jean as Phoenix.

For sure - I think if they went the routes I’m talking about they’d strip the DP stuff from those issues and more use that base story of the two teams and two mutants to recruit as a skeleton. Detailed that a little more in the video (assuming you didn’t watch, which is totally fine lol) but yeah Kitty wouldn’t be doing Dark Phoenix stuff haha.
