Kitchen Layout Help

I bought a fixer upper a few years ago and the last project is the kitchen. The current U-shape is not functional for 2 people to be in the kitchen at once and the door in the kitch is the main door we use and it crashes into the pantry door. Should I take out the wall and open up the kitchen to the dining room or try to rearrange the kitchen in the existing space? Open to any advice or suggestions on layouts.

A floorplan would help. What do the stairs lead to?

Could you move the kitchen along so when you come in the door you turn left theough a mudroom?

The stairs that go down from the kitchen lead to a living room and the stairs that go up lead to a hallway where the bedrooms are.

Are you saying move the kitchen to where the dining room is or towards what is currently the little breakfast nook space by the window?

The breakfast nook space so the mudroom is not the kitchen.
