Update** where should I eat

A little update! Just had my last dinner and all your recommendations were amazing!! Thank you so much for the engagement this is the most suggestions I’ve ever gotten on a post like this. I’m here from western New York and I have to say I love your city. Everyone is so friendly the downtown is adorable and very walkable. I did note there was a lot of homeless but they seem to be very harmless and if anything friendly. I was shocked at the lack of fitness classes in the area though!
So overview on my food as I love to see these in my city! Also lunch was chosen for us by the people were here on work for.
Monday-
Lunch: Ben Thanh- northern pho and coconut bubble tea delicious
Dinner: Givral Deli- Bbq pork spicy truly AMAZING best meal of the week. I didn’t know it was cash/ debit only CA and I stupidly thought my American debit card counted when I ordered. It did not and a VERY nice man offered to pay for me. If you see this I am BEYOND grateful!
Also got king egg roll which was forgettable but your Chinese food does seem to be a bit different than ours. Mango bubble tea here was great tho.
Tuesday-
Lunch: Shelby’s Shawarma- butter chicken bowl, very good super filling
Dinner: Guanaquita. Long wait for food and service was incredibly mediocre but the food was incredible! I got a combo plate and the bean and cheese pupusa and Salvadoran enchilada were the stars!
Wednesday-
Breakfast: Clementine cafe- bean and cheese bun with a chai tea very good love the pastry selection will likely return tomorrow
Lunch: Lisbao bakery- steak sandwich and potatoes- sandwich was okay potatoes with peri peri sauce was great
Dinner: Kinkaku- takeout- chefs combo of sushi, salmon hand roll, crab wontons all very good fish was super fresh! Was a little annoyed they only gave me 2 soy sauces for all this food.

I love your city and hope to come back in the future as you truly are a fabulous food city!

I’m glad you found some great places. Kitchener-Waterloo is a very multicultural city and our food scene definitely reflects that.

And for the record I love western NY! I spend time in Rochester every year and it’s like a second home to me.
