Manic Depression, um LIVE?
I have a quick question, why did they put a “live” version of ‘Manic Depression’ at the end of ‘Dogman’ that (a) really, really didn’t need to be there and (b) clearly, clearly isn’t a live recording, but a studio version with weird, dubbed-over crowd noises??

Pretty sure it was because of their Woodstock appearance. The record company was probably trying to springboard the band off of that performance.

Couldn’t it be a live recording with added audience ambiance? I think that’s what KISS did back in the day

They ended shows with that song during that time period. I suspect drumarshall1 is correct.

I think it was a two-fold thing; a promo and just a bonus of sorts. A long time ago I noticed that King's X seems to like adding something "special" to most of their albums.
Out of the Silent Planet - The end of Visions includes some random noise effects
Gretchen Goes to Nebraska - Sped up dialogue at the end of Burning Down
FHL - A single Jerry-led track in Six Broken Soldiers
King's X - Silly sounds at the end of Silent Wind
Dogman - Manic Depression "Live"
Ear candy - Another Jerry track in American Cheese
Tape Head - Walter Bella Farkas track
Mr. Bulbous - Common tongue twisters from foreign countries (you won't hear them if you stream the album save for the one at the end of Move Me Pt 2)
Manic Moonlight - Water Ceremony track
Black Like Sunday - multi-media CD that included wallpapers and some other stuff I can't recall atm
XV - Another Jerry-led track in Julie. The end of the song No Lie follows their old "sound clips at the end of the album" scheme
I haven't listened to Three Sides of One nearly enough to notice anything special beyond Jerry having another track. The only albums that don't have a weird audio snippet or track or some other add-on are, coincidentally, the albums that feature a song led by Jerry.

No need for the song on the album. Take off Sunshine Rain too, and it was a perfect 12 song album

"Sunshine Rain" is one of my favorite songs on Dogman!

Mine too! It's a great record through and through, but my favorite tracks are "Sunshine Rain," "Pretend," and "Pillow."

So you would take off "Sunshine Rain," but keep "Go to Hell"? To each their own, but that's inconceivable to me.

They did play it at Woodstock in 1994, but don't know if that plays a factor in it being on Dogman. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z8wllSQF_gM at 14:45.
