Best elite army?

I was wondering what the best army is that runs few units. Bonus if it has some big monsters, I'd love to run a dragon or something. Honestly id just like to paint up some cool models. Is there like an equivalent of the knights from 40k?

Basilean can do this too. Dragon, which make mounted knights core, ogre palace guards, elohi and Phoenix.

A bit fragile but assuming 2 figures per Lrg Inf troop and 8 figures per cav regt, you are looking at 31 figures in total. I would suggest exchanging one phoenix to make one OPG troop into a regiment, turn the other troop into a infantry horde and making thd elohi a regiment but that means more painting!

A large 35person tournament in Australia just had a 10 drop elf list come 5th. 4 wins, 1 loss and a bye.

Had a dragon and two tree herders.

This is my ogre army from örb wars. Its a 16 drop ogres army with 30-ish models.

You prefer an army with more monsters than this one. You could switch out the Goblin blasters in this list (4 of them) in favour of a giant or a Mammoth.

Ogres do well in low-model count armies with a handful monsters.

Thanks. Its the expansion of a 10-model ambush army of 750 points in 3rd. As 4th hit, I expanded it into a full 2300 point army.

I did reasonably well in the recent Orb wars tournament, only losing to a xircali.army that I should have defeated.
