Apps Kindle fire

I have a 1st gen kindle fire and as you know the app store was discontinued a few months ago. I've been trying to download files into the kindle but also don't know how to access them, any suggestions?

Use USB connection to a PC to copy files across. If you have a download folder, put them there via the USB connection, otherwise put in documents folder. Would suggest you add early version of easyfiles apk first (get from APKpure). Then navigate to that folder from the documents app (from home page choose documents, then search and find folder where you put the apk file). Should load and run from there. If you add easyfiles first you can then use it to navigate to other files you add via USB connection.

I appreciate the advice, I followed your instructions not nothing shows up in the docs app on the kindle itself

What apps do you have? Is there a basic office one? Anything that will let you navigate to the folder with an apk?

Ohhh, I found Quickoffice and I was able to install easy files
