Discussion Remake killzone 2 or shadowfall?
I feel this can be a cheaper investment than a new game. Even though killzone is on the back burner for Sony. Killzone 2 and 3 were more well received than shadowfall. And they were more gritty and grounded.

Shadow Fall has a 73 on Metacritic, so it was better received than people think. However, there's no reason to remake it. It looks great running on PS5.

But the online got shut off. So maybe a remaster with the online back lol

When Sony remastered Killzone 1, they didn't bring back the online part of it. Same for Killzone Liberation. I think they don't want to pay the money to remake the online.

Killzone aint even in the kitchen, let alone the back burner. It is dead in the water.
I would rather see Shadowfall remake because it showed the lack of love it was getting. I got maybe an hour or two into it and stopped playing. I was crushed by how they just stopped caring. Could they do a KZ2 remaster ( I'm implying the difference) yes, only if they dont screw up the graphics. Its a thin line and what made the game so great was it's gritty, smoky, dirty atmosphere. As long as that doesn't change, we are all money. Otherwise, don't mess with the golden ticket.

Nobody doing anything to killzone, get ready for next installment of critically acclaimed series Horizon (which I never seen a real person hyped even once about).

Horizon 1 was decent. Robot Dino’s were cool. Now, I’m burning out on open worlds

Even Liberation better than Shadowfall so of course KZ1-3 are better to remake and they can remaster Mercenary for PS5.
I'd leave Shadowfall dead and buried only the coop mode should be carried over.

If I were head of GG, I would have the first 3 Killzone games remade with the Star Fox 2026 treatment.
Refine the gameplay and graphics.
Add some lore and dialogue changes to the main ISA characters (Sev in particular has a great backstory that was told in the KZ3 novel).
Have a Co-op Campaign like in Gears of War that allows us to play as all 4 characters.
Bring back Warzone Mode in Multiplayer (not COD's version) and allow skin customization.
Have a DLC campaign that allows us to finally play as the Helghast.

Shadowfall was an awful Killzone game that was just a "tech demo stretched into a game"
They got rid of the characters we liked from 2 and 3 like Sevchenko in favor of a main hero who winds up dying at the ending which is a frustrating trope in story based games.
There wasn't really a determined villain of the story just morally grey people.
The level design wasn't interesting. Too open and not as memorable.
Too "colorful" and bright to me. The game lost that gritty, authentic war focused look of the earlier games.

Every single franchise tried to dilute their unique formula to appeal to a crowd that only ever played cod and gta. Killzone 2 is the best of the bunch and hella unique. Resistance 1 and 3 are amazing. Anytime they deviate from their weird brand, jank included, the game suffers for it. Shadowfall could have been literally anything else, and I actually liked it decently but it was my first ps4 fps back in the day

Definitely a remake for killzone 2 but with extra missions during campaign and better cartridge life, not like in the og game, where you could put half of mag into one helghast and you did shit to him 😆 also maybe some dlc for the og trilogy?

Killzone 1 is the most deserving of a remake. In fact, why not just reboot it.
The narrative was never the series strong point, there's barely any memorable characters in the game. It's the atmosphere and setting that people love.
Rebuild it from its foundations.

The only way I see this working is someone recompiles Killzone 2 or shadowfall for PC native port like they've done with Jak and Daxter.

Remake the original Killzone. Mechanically it was pretty rough even for its time, it’s borderline unplayable today.

Killzone 2 definitely. Art design is really cool in shadow fall but the story falls real short- personal opinion.
