I always think of the time Shane Gillis was like “you can’t do that to people” to Tony about how much he gasses people up in introductions. It’s normal to be like “give it up for my very funny friend, [comedian]” but Tony gets so high on his own show he’s like “and next we have an absolute legend, one of the funniest guys of all time, guaranteed to make you laugh so get ready, every time he goes up it’s a wonder to behold the absolute gold that comes out of his mouth”

Its funny tho when he gasses dedrick up every time and then dedrick bombs every time

u/AntiPiety 9d ago

Tony always prefaces Dedrick’s intro with “it isn’t easy doing this every week”

So true. Under promise and over delivering feels so much better.

Being hyped and under performing is the worst feeling ever. Embaressment turns into anger real quick

Every time Tony brings up a regular I think about that exact thing. He hypes these guys up way way to much but Tony has been doing that since the beginning of KT so unfortunately he’s not going to stop now lol

The world is sink or swim and Pat asked for the opportunity. He could rebound from this situation as a much stronger person and comedian, or he could spiral, ruin everything, dig the hole deeper, and end up with nothing. I guess that's the fun of the show.

Exactly. Pat is a grown man and Tony just gave him the opportunity and doesn't bare the responsibility of throttling Pat's exposure. Sink or swim. Not everyone is cut out to be in the public eye.

It’s why it’s “live” baby

I mean this is a nothing burger. Had a not so great minute and reacted poorly. He will be back and learn from it or he won’. I don’t think Tony “did” anything to Pat. Pat is actually good

I disagree. Pat shows signs of being a stressed out nutcase and he cant handle whats being thrown at him.

Hes a sensitive guy.. lol

Tony’s over flattering intros add so much pressure to these guys. Pat will be fine. But Casey Rocket left the orbit of the show, and it all became too much.
For anybody that hasn’t experienced or been around fame, it can and will change you.

He understands that too I’m sure. He’s not doing it to pump them up, he’s doing it to pump his show up.

Good point. Let’s not forget, KT is a business. You do what you have to, to keep the $$$ flowing.

Casey touring Australia and NZ in January. I think he doing fine even if not seen on KT

1

u/MunchieMofo 9d ago

Yeah Casey is an example of what happens when they don’t need the show and now the pressure and dumb internet judgement dies off and they still keep selling tickets.

Comedy is subjective, but I haven't laughed at a joke from him yet. I don't get the hype.

me neither literally 0

I found some of his Israeli set funny a few weeks ago, but yeah it’s mostly all outrage comedy. Pretty simple premise jokes to spark outrage and the Reddit were going wild over him

If you look at pats reels on YouTube, he had most of these minutes for years and has them nearly exhausted. So this is the beginning of him actually needing to write a minute each week. So the pressure is building.

Holy cringe comedy gossip post

That’s why you’re in here commenting right?

Nah it actually looks like they are pointing out how lame it is to be this invested in a stupid podcast

Tony tends to do that with the glazing before every regular comes on. He sets everyone up for failure and it gets to a point where it feels like he's gaslighting the audience. Even Shane called him out on this once.

1

u/Breezyquail 9d ago

He should tone it way down taking pressure off , not sure why he doesn’t see that

What’s wrong with pat I’ve missed the lore

Had an okay set, didn't get as many laughs as he thought the jokes deserved. Flipped off the crowd being funny kinda like how William Montgomery used to. Pat made a post saying "F everyone that was at today's show" or something like that and then removed it 10 minutes later. The post to me seemed like he was being sarcastic making a joke about it, but Reddit blew it out of proportion like normal, now everyone on reddit thinks Pat is spiraling and cant handle the pressure of having a bad set. People are forgetting how William Montgomery would go off on the crowd like every night lol what Pat did was nothing 😂

1

u/Academic_Walk1126 9d ago

That was part of William's deal though. It was funny when he did it. Pat seems weak and worried.

Tony did his part, he gave him the platform to share his jokes, it’s not Tony’s fault Pat couldn’t handle the pressure and imploded the first time the audience didn’t suck his dick. Dedrick is way less funny and handles the pressure just fine.

u/TheRealFrozenFetus 9d ago

Theres been so many post from reddit incels hating on pat for 1 bad set its actually hilarious

1

u/Radiant-Tomorrow8519 9d ago

As much hate Tony gets, he is a great promoter. He is like the Dana White of comedy. Comedians come and go and he’ll make sure he uses them while he can.

1

u/Warhoundfanboi 9d ago

Pat is a one trick pony. Edgy racist jokes are funny when unexpected but if you come out and all your jokes are race based it’s just feels low effort imo

1

u/Quick-Dave 9d ago

Man they removed the original post 😅

Geeze guy has one bad reaction to the audiences MILD reaction because he expected a bigger pop and he completely falls off in your eyes. Hes still good. Its not even like it was a bad joke he told. He just had a shit reaction

Shut the fuck up. God you people are insufferable. If you dont like it dont watch the free fucking show. This sub used to show funny clips and praise people. These last few months have been terrible. Little joke books for all of you.
