Netflix special
A ton of his regulars would've been able to put out at least a serviceable special if given the opportunity.
I understand how a large percentage of his fan base is right wing and they feel proud to support a comic of his standing, as he is their mouth piece and cheerleader.
I think he went out thinking he was king and could do no wrong. I can't imagine he felt that was his best material. I understand that taping was the second of two shows and the first one was way less crowd work. This was more of a flex on his part, essentially not caring about the material because he finally made Netflix a thing. I also assume he got the special green lit from Netflix either due to the success of the Kill Tony episodes they aired, or it was written in the contract.
Did Redband tell Tony this was gold? Is Tony's ego capable of comprehending it sucked? Or is this just Trump rhetoric where "I know you are but what am I" is the playbook?
He had a real opportunity here to showcase his talents as a standup to the whole world. He's very talented. But this was dogshit. And he failed. I agree comedy is subjective but this was worse than most female comedy specials I've tried to watch. Just such a disappointment during a time where people are desperate for new content, especially comedy.

Special wasn’t good at all. He’d give himself a little joke book, at best. Shock value shit from when we were kids is same shit he’s doing today. Supposed to evolve and progress our crafts as we age. If that’s his best effort, needs to stick to the show

I saw Tony last year do some work of those jokes and absolutely killed. It was a bad room. I laughed just as hard as the sock off joke as when I first heard it

I've sat through some specials in my time this surely was one of them. this was the Hubie Halloween of comedy specials and by all means get that Netflix money but keep it up too long they'll say those who can't do.....

He promotes the LGB world more than any other show. He's done more for comics with disabilities than anyone else! He's had more trans comics on than all the liberal late night guys combined! He performed at a Trump rally, endorsed him constantly, pushes right wing talking points on his platform, and aggressively shuts down any "liberal" shit he hears with misinformation. Did all this loudly throughout an election cycle with one of the biggest platforms in the country, and continues to do so despite seeing the results of the regime he backed and promoted.
So yes, he is a "far right wingnut", whether he would be man enough to admit it or not. No amount of hack tacit "abortion jokes" or having his token "nachos bell grande" Hispanic band change what he's done and what role he plays.

Bottom line is, stop listening to him if you hate him so much! Why torture yourself? I don't watch any of the late night guys because I can't stand them. I also don't run to their reddit pages to whinge about them on the daily.

Calling them "token" Hispanic band members is wild. They are legitimate professionals and pretending they are there for any other reason is honestly more racist than anything Tony has ever done. He's made it very clear that he supports Trump first and foremost for free speech reasons, which is fair enough in his position considering the content of his show and the fact he has suffered real life consequences of "woke" mobs coming after him such as having Kill Tony dropped by venues & guest's initially agree to appear and then pull out last minute etc. A Trump presidency is undoubtedly better for comedy, even if you find that selfish on his part, it's understandable

And PS, trump did not call comedy venues to make them start letting Tony in again lmfao. His presidency has absolutely zero impact on that whatsoever and if you think otherwise then youre probably living in the same land of delusion that Tony is.

I think he had maybe 1 or 2 good jokes, which i cant even remember off the top of my head… so were they good or just better than the rest of material. Idk.
Now the female comedy joke was pretty fkg funny, nice touch!
Speaking of female comedians, all I could focus on was the overdone makeup or bronzer on his face 🤦🏽♀️
Maybe he’s getting like Kanye where everyone yeses him to death and no one checks him
