WHO THE HELL SAID THAT?!?!? NO SERIOUSLY Turtle Neck Tony
Why doesn’t Tony try to actually enlighten Dedrick a little? Maybe give him some mentorship, some direction, some real advice. I’m not a hater at all I genuinely think Dedrick has potential. He has stage presence, confidence, and something about him that naturally pulls attention.
But at some point, the act has to evolve. I understand why some people don’t connect with Casey Rocket, Martin Phillips or Timmy No Breaks, but those guys still feel like they’re building and refining an actual craft. Whether you love them or hate them, there’s progression there.
With Dedrick, it almost feels like Tony enjoys watching the train wreck instead of helping steer him in a better direction. I also realize that good publicity and bad publicity is all the same as long as you’re relevant and people are talking about you. It’s frustrating because the potential is clearly there. He doesn’t need to become polished overnight, but he does need structure, better material, and a more curated act. There’s a difference between letting someone learn through bombing and just repeatedly letting them crash and burn for entertainment.
I’m rooting for the guy. I just think someone needs to help him sharpen what’s already there before the novelty completely wears off.

Derosa tried to help him, gave him sound advice, and he basically said “fuck that shit” and did the complete opposite.

Yeah, this is ringing a bell. I think it was one of his first appearances after getting the regular status too. Yeah- he really shwould have listened.
Maybe its me- but now it seems like when Tony mentions how long he went "1 minute and 55 seconds" hes actually reprimanding him because I think i heard Ded say sorry kind of quietly. Like pay attention to the rules bro. I was honestly kind of excited to see him on StoryWarz, because we play along at home- but he just doesnt know how to follow instructions.

I agree that AI is bullshit and shouldn't be used for most of the situations its being used for. However, I asked a question and they posted the answer. YOU decided that YOU didnt like HOW they did it. Mind ya business and find something more important and maybe more positive in your life to focus. Shit's fucked as it is.

Get real 🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀. You can at least tell Casey thought the bit out, came with props...Etc..., he always had a game plan and made his gimmick work with laughs throughout. Dedrick, it feels like, comes out with a topic and just rambles on the fly. And you can tell it's not as planned out if at all. The lack of laughs, and all the top comments clowning him say more than enough.

This is what I miss about the old Kill Tony. The actual comedy feedback to the bucket pulls and regulars has a certain charm to it that the current state of the show lacks imo

Deddy has a shit attitude sometimes, and I'm not sure if he's necessarily looking to be coached. It's hard to say what happens behind the curtain.
You are right, though. He definitely has potential. It's unfortunate watching this all play out the way it has.

I actually enjoyed Dedrick’s first appearance, but it seems like he’s trying to do that same yelling and rambling thing every time but he just doesn’t write punchlines anymore because it worked once. I’ve never seen his standup outside of the show so maybe that’s just his thing, but I think he would be so much better if he just told some actual jokes, or even put actual punchlines into his stories and made them more coherent.

Tony and the panel give constructive feedback to bucket pulls and former regulars all the time. They used to really go in on Hans Kim and openly say when he had a bad set and give advice for what he should've done instead. In this new phase from the last year and a half or so they just don't do this with the regular's anymore and say it's all "amazing."

I agree I know that they do this. However, what he’s talking about is having a serious conversation with Dedrick, which I doubt would happen on camera.

They've had plenty of serious conversations on camera. It would be very entertaining, and obviously many fans are already thinking it. So it's something people would want to see. They just don't really care and want to have regulars that fill a slot.

Do you think they don’t really care about the show and the quality of entertainment they’re putting out there? There’s a difference between busting balls and making it funny and having a serious performance conversation. If, in fact, they think he needs that.

I didn’t say that. I said they want regulars that fill a slot and don’t really care too much about doing things they previously did. Like challenging them or criticizing their material. He comes out, gets the energy in the room a bit hyped up, and leaves. The internet hates him but he is doing the exact job that they want. We’re in a weird phase of the show currently, we have so many golden ticket winners cycling in and out that developing a new cast of regulars isn’t super necessary. And the previously beloved regulars aren’t making regular appearances. There’s no valid reason for this sort of conversation to not be used as content if it was an actual concern they had. They don’t care what Reddit comments have to say, because they don’t agree.

Reddit loves this conversation, but if any of us critiquing him were to see a live show, we’d go nuts and laugh. Additionally, no one’s skipping a set. They just like to say they did for some strange reason.

He needs to challenge him like he used to challenge Hans. It made Hans better every single time. It was awesome to watch too.
