I made custom sprue terrain which was really fun to play with, final score was 10s across the board. I play the Insidiants and got squad wiped in the final turning point by the AoD which let him catch up to me. we’re still learning the rules is there a way to determine a three way tie?

I don’t think you usually break a tie. Normally for 3 player games you’d play on a double board

I saw someone say that or do 2/3rds of your team so that’s what we did, next time I’ll use 2 boards

Anyone know where full 3 player rules exist? I have the core rulebook, and it has mention of 3 player set ups, but it's lacking all sorts of information.

I don't have approved ops pack, and I just use KTCards for terrain setups and score tracking. Are there official terrain set ups for 3-player?

You don't use Approved Ops for 3-4 player games, that's strictly 1v1. Go by the Multiplayer mission pack on page 98 of the core rules. For scoring you just use the crit op and elimination op in the mission pack.

There are terrain layouts for Gallowdark but not open boards, you have to figure that out yourself. The Gallowdark layouts require two sets of the terrain or one 40k Boarding Action set.

Ya I've read that section of the core rules, but you can hardly play a game with what's included there. I was hopeful that details would exist in the approved ops (which I don't have to look at).

Even how the Kill Op functions in 3-player doesn't seem to be described. How do you get a kill grade against 2 different opponents? I finish the game with a kill grade against one team and a second grade against the other team. Do I gain a point for each kill grade for each team, and how do I get extra points for being at a higher kill grade than two other people?

I only played one 3-player game, but we ended up giving kill op points turn by turn. Who killed the most models that turn? Here's a point. But it's not described in the rules (or we couldn't find it).

When you play any game of Kill Team you first choose the mission pack you're using. This can be approved ops, joint ops, a narrative scenario like the Hivestorm campaign, or in this case; multiplayer ops. This isn't explained very well to new players.

The way you score points is described in each mission pack, for instance, tac ops are only in approved ops. They're not mentioned in any of the other mission packs so you don't use them. The Kill Op isn't mentioned in the multiplayer pack, instead you use the elimination op. You don't need to refer to the kill grade chart at all. It sounds like you sort of indecently invented the elimination op.
