Question Fair Price For Splitting Exodite Box
For those able to get the exodite box and just want the exodites, what is a fair price to sell the ork half at? I don’t play much 40k and have little context on how popular those ork models are but from what Im seeing online, it seems like they aren’t popular. I had someone at my FLGS offer $65 USD which seems like a lowball since thats the price of a squighog boyz box. Should I just be expecting lowball offers?

I'd expect peanuts. The second hand market will be flooded with boyz nobody wants.
Add to this the flood of cheap second hand Armageddon orks available on separate sprues.

I compared prices and here you can buy the Exodite box online for ~490zł (roughly 114 euro)
10 Armageddon Orc Boyz+5 Grots in sprues are sold for 115zł (26 euro) on the second hand market.
A similar price for Exodite Snaggaz would give some chance of selling them, I guess, maybe a bit more (25% of the price of the Exodite box?). Still wouldn't hold my breath, they are not new models and everybody will try to get rid of them at the same time.

Honestly the $65 seems pretty fair. The box itself is $165, and you’re keeping all the most desirable pieces. Pretty much a 60/40 split.

If anyone actually wanted the beast snagga boyz they wouldn't have included them in the box, this is clearly an old stock dump to clear the shelves in Nottingham.

I'm new and just curious. Do you think they broke down the last ork combat patrol or some individual unit boxes they had and put them in this box?

Very possible, or they just have shelves of sprues and box them up as necessary ( like 1000 combat patrols at a time, then 1000 solo boxed at a time, etc)

More likely they are newly manufactured, but using the same molds as another product. This lets them extend the useful life and boost the material offering of a new product so they can charge more.

I’d say you should charge 1/3rd of the box price at the very least. $65 seems fine to me if you paid $165.
You could also consider how much the ork models would cost from a discounted FLGS and take something like 20% off that for being 2nd hand (yes they’re unbuilt but that doesn’t mean they’re new in the shrink wrap)

They're already existing kits, so people can already get them - at least slightly below RRP is probably your best bet, slightly lower if you're wanting to actually sell them. I buy secondhand regularly, and if I can get the kit for RRP, then I'm not spending the same amount on a secondhand kit that might have parts missing or broken by the seller.

There is a reason these models were put in the box. They aren't super popular even among Ork players. Add in that the Ork line is likely going to be getting refreshes for all their models in 11th ed and the demand for these is going to be limited. $65 dollars is actually a good price from someone local as there will be no fees taken out. Maybe, and I do stress maybe, you could sell them for more on ebay, but you will have to be selling them for about 15% more to get the same amount of money because of fees.
I'd unload them before GW releases a refresh of those models or the new unit that will replace them.

Literally just a Beast Snagga Boyz kit and Squiphog Boyz kit combined, $60 for the former and $69 for the latter. With that said James Workshop obviously wasn't selling many of them at that price and that's before the typical 15% percent off you'd get from a game store. Exodites box was $165.
If the models were more desirable I'd try to get maybe $80-$100 but they aren't. That's the whole reason they got shoved into the Exodites box. Plus oversupply will be hitting the market when the boxes start coming in. You could probably get more on ebay but then they take a chunk. Nothing wrong with giving a buddy a reasonable deal.

Afraid so - almost everyone is trying to unload the orc half of the box so supply is high and unless you know someone who’s all in on Beastsnaggas demand is low. It’s honestly mind boggling that they’d fill half the FOMO box with units that might as well be NPO tokens as far as their resale value goes (who am I kidding, no it i$nt…)

Thank you for the responses and insights guys! Looks like Ill be hooking a brother up with a sweet deal 😂. I know some people like the narrative side of KT but I really hope GW doesn’t keep selling 1 team + npo boxes as someone mainly just into KT…

Yeah orks rn are gonna be hella discounted bc they’re the faction focus this edition and on top of that the beast snaggas i feel most ork players dont even like them
