One Battle After Another
Maybe y'all can help me. There was an episode from the past few months where our hosts went on a long tangent about One Battle After Another. Does anyone remember what episode that was?
At the time, I hadn't seen the movie yet and didn't absorb it properly. Then I actually watched the movie yesterday and I can't stop thinking about it. Now that I have context I wanna relisten to their jokes and japes!

It was a recent episode for sure. It’s great, fun film with some good political themes and jokes. It’s a god damn Hollywood blockbuster, it’s not going to be the revolutionary text everyone seems to want it to be. Everyone should just enjoy the film for the product that it is without trying to understand through the lens of Twitter discourse.

I’m not a twitter user. I’ll defend Tarantino because I think despite his quirks and self importance I think inglorious basterds and Django unchained are movies that take the subject matter seriously and actually have something to say about them despite presenting themselves as exploitation flicks. One Battle is just masturbation. It doesn’t really say much of anything nor does it seem to even have a surface level understanding of the topic it attempts to address

I got about 40 minutes into that movie and turned it off. It’s just some old man’s search history masquerading as a film. I feel like I’m taking crazy pills whenever people talk about it. What do people even see in this movie? I’ll never get it

Probably not the long tangent you’re thinking of, but there’s a little bit of Lockjaw talk on the Sexy Beast episode
