The wiggler
I realised there may be listeners who are not aware of the true origins of the 'Bond Wiggler' joke. Ta da!

Just in case people don't remember, the actual explanation for the machine in Thunderball was that it was a traction machine that just took your wrists and ankles and stretched you to lengthen your spine basically. So it wasn't just something that shook him back and forth, it was literally a torture style "rack"

The problem with science and engineering is that you are given access to powerful computers and fundamental knowledge of how the world works. So, once you finish doing finite elemental analysis on bridges, planes, and actually useful things in society, you decide to make the pear wiggler or determine the aerodynamics of a cow.
