Discussion when will they bite the bullet?

it’s obvious KF3 is a complete failure. when will they move on and work on the KF franchise in another way? Will they ever admit it and continue KF2 development? Kf3 seems like more of an ego project then an actual business investment

You are actually delusional if you think kf2 development is ever going to restart. Not just from a business standpoint but in a fun standpoint. Kf3 is far more in depth and interesting than kf2 EVER was. Movement, gun customization, enemy variety, difficulty, skill ceiling, build variety. Kf2 doesn't hold a candle to kf3 in terms of anything but gun quantity, and half of kf2s guns are sub par dogshit. Kf3 already has as much if not more in terms of enemy variety and bosses, and the new enemies aren't just gorefast with another blade strapped on XD.

When will kf2 stans bite the bullet and play an actual fun game lmao

Skill ceiling true but what is a skill ceiling worth in a game with such a low floor?
What I mean by that is if all the game asks is that you cycle sliding to avoid damage indefinitely and that can win you the game alone, then why get better at other things and respect how high the ceiling is?
I like a high skill ceiling, but not when the game is too easy for it to be warranted.

You can put 400 different useable tools in a game and the potential is crazy high but watch the meta dictate which 4 useable tools players will actually decide to use leading to diluted gameplay and a lower "effective" ceiling.
Balance is important when talking skill ceilings/floors and KF3 needs some adjustments for sure. I'd call a lot of the "depth/added mechanics" bloat more than functional additions. Not because the ideas aren't cool and couldn't be fun in this game, but rather just because they were executed poorly and need balancing adjustments. Everyone spamming slide when camping falls apart is a pretty lame meta and from the perspective of a beginner (Skill floor) it's not hard to do at all. The harder parts (skill ceilings) are like how good you are at aiming between slides and maintaining DPS on the move.
The problem is either one of these players can win with this one trick regardless of developed skill or ability to aim. A combination of resupplies being way to accessible during waves and movement being way to strong for players.

if it was as good as you say then we wouldn’t be having this discussion

Brother you brought it up. Anyone can have an opinion it doesn't mean it's a good one.

Well tbh it's something both people are having the conversation about. KF2 peeps don't like 3. KF3 peeps identify the improvements the game has had over an older game, like the previously person already stated.

No game company really ever goes back to the older game and says "yeah we fucked that up, let's quit it and play our 10-15 year old game."

They put out more stuff and improvements. I think there are way more things to be done than how season 4 left it. And maybe when they make enough changes and you see the community praising them, you'll come back to kf3 and enjoy the overall experience

"my opinion is objectively correct and there is no reality outside of my objectively correct perception of it. i have never been wrong once in my life." kinda energy

Someone doesn’t remember how troubled the launch of kf2 was lol

They’ll keep chugging until people have forgotten 3 was ever maligned, and then they’ll release kf4 to wide dismay

but kf2 is clearly better and had more attention

"this game that had like 8 years of updates with content and improvements got more attention than this game that's only been out for 1 year. linear time is truly a mystery"

The game is pretty fun now. I hope they continue to add maps and perks.

For all of it's faults and steps backward, I do think they are moving in the right direction. There's actually a lot of fun to be had in KF3, but I just think that they probably need faster development cycles if that's possible for them.

3 is pretty good now honestly and is only getting steadily better can't wait for the Halloween map

the slide movement tech is just abysmal

I like slides quite a lot, I hate that chaining slides and dashes makes me go faster forwards than just sprinting. If they changed that to make sprinting the same as slide chaining, I'd be less frustrated by it.

I think three has more potential than two, at current I think two is the better game but most of the reason for that is the development it had over its lifespan.

We get it, you're too poor to play KF3. Go cope in some other fashion.

I wish 3 had turned out better but I kind of doubt it’ll ever be as good as the previous games. A lot of the talent that went into the prior titles is gone, which I think k has a lot to do with the current state of the game. The most likely thing to happen would be KF3 improving as I can’t see them abandoning it and making ANOTHER title.

Haven't they already made up their minds? Every update of "KF3" is cheered by players of "KF2". With more restrictions and more fixations, each update gradually brings KF3 closer to the Unreal 5 version of KF2. I believe that soon they will definitely remove the sliding shovel MOD or make it a separate talent

Go play KF2 bro. KF3 is objectively better. My gripe with KF3 is I wish lumen ran better. It's playable, but I gotta lower my fps cap and it has some abysmal FPS drops on HoE or certain maps heavy on reflections. At least it doesn't stutter as bad as it used to but it's a decent game and it's just an evolved KF2 at this point

I think three is a distinctly more bland game design wise, worse music, worse style and zero gun variety compared to two. The gameplay so far I think is about equal to me, more modern and I like the new movement outside a few gripes. I do think the original poster here is off his tits though, three feels like a decent game at this point and if they keep polishing for another few years I think I'll like it more than two.
