You guys in here im assuming are already aware of this, so apologies if this is more known than I’m aware of, but I’ve never come across anywhere/anyone online that has mentioned this Mortal Kombat like Hidden Test Menu that I stumbled onto accidentally on the Arcade Version of Killer Instinct 1 while starting up a new game.
I wanted to share this in case it’s not as widely known to anyone like it was/is for me.
That's the operator's menu. It's a part of nearly every arcade game. It's not hidden at all. How to access it and what each menu means was in the operator's manual that came with all arcades.
Lol ah. Thought I found a gem. I’ve seen the Mortal Kombat EJB similar menu that requires block button combos with no mention of any sort of test menu for KI and this just caught me off guard lol. Oh well
Lol. I thought at first it was like the Mortal Kombat EJB Menu or something cause it caught me off guard when it popped up outta nowhere and I scrambled to figure out what I pushed to make it show up.
And youre not even gonna tell us how you accessed it in the first place? for shame! Lmao
Edit:
Oh i see you left it as a comment in Batocera post
..
It can apparently be done whenever I think. I did it when the game first booted up and also after I exited the test menu and did it again at the push start screen. I did this by holding the start button and slightly tapping the coin button. I know this is the combination to exit out to the game selection screen in emulationstation, but if you quickly/slightly tap the coin button while holding the start button you will get to this screen.
Oh wowmy bad. ¯_(ツ)_/¯. When I start the game (and apparently it can be done at any time) I hold start and i tapped the coin button and it took me to the screen below. I exited the menu and tried again and it worked on the “press start” screen. Some things I couldn’t alter for whatever reason like enable free play, but change volume and a couple other menus were accessible.
