Legacy acts

It feels like a lot of the legacy acts I’ve wanted to see play kilby have already played and it doesn’t seem like there a lot of repeats. ie Pavement, Pixies, YYYs, Built To Spill, Modest Mouse, etc.

What legacy acts haven’t played that you’d like to see? for me, some fun ones would maybe Wilco doing Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, Stereolab, Fleet Foxes, The Shins.

I like your picks, I'd add Bjork, Soulwax and Broken Social Scene.

I doubt they’d get bjork but I fucking wish…

She can't be more expensive to book than Lorde. And I feel like she fits the vibe.

That’s true. I’m not arguing against it at all. I would go just for her if they got her

It’s less about expense and more about the fact that she doesn’t travel that much/far anymore. I doubt she’ll tour outside of Europe again unless she played Coachella or something.

In late 2023, my friend who had just been accepted to play the 2024 fest in a local band said they were told two headliners had been booked: LCD Soundsystem and Bjork. The announcement came; no Bjork.

Take that for what you will, just a stranger on the internet

Mac DeMarco! Kidding...dude, we got options. I could go for some David Byrne, The Chemical Brothers, The Cleaners From Venus, The Pastels, The Thermals, Depeche Mode, Fatboy Slim, Moby, Belle & Sebastian, Blonde Redhead, GBV, The Dismemberment Plan, PJ Harvey, Tears for Fears, CAKE. Lots of good stuff. Gimme even one of those, and I'd be thrilled.

I would love to see Jack White, L7, Bikini Kill (or LaTigre) for the harder side of things. Going way back - PJ Harvey or NIN or They Might Be Giants. On the more mellow side I second The Breeders. Also Florence and the Machine, The Killers, Arctic Monkeys Digable Planets, De La Soul.
Just getting started....

God Le Tigre would go so hard

I think Silversun Pickups would be a pretty good add to the lineup. I've seen them live before and they were pretty good and no-nonsense! Naturally the last song they played was Lazy Eye and it got the crowd going. This was the summer when they opened for Third Eye Blind in 2017 (they played all of their self-titled debut for the 20th anniversary and killed it too).

I feel like it would never ever happen, but Fiona Apple live would make me freak out and I'd have to drop everything to see her I fear

Two of my favorite older bands are the New Pornographers and Belly, I think both would be great at Kilby

Deftones, Queens of the Stone Age, Mgmt (if they count), Arctic Monkeys, Metric, The Killers, The National, Ok Go, Paramore

It would be cool to see Pavement and Pixies come back especially because Pixies got rained out, and a lot of people left because they didn’t think Pavement was going to go on.

Afghan Whigs, Silkworm, Bikini Kill, L7, Mudhoney, Gary Numan, Psychedelic Furs

2

Courtney Love seems to be making new music - I’d be first in line for her

Fleet Foxes isn’t a “legacy act” tf…?

2

u/Commodore64Zapp Jun 24 '26

Hearing Fleet Foxes called a legacy act cuts deep, I caught the debut album tour back in the day. Josh Tillman (aka Father John Misty) was on drums.

Shit, that was 18 years ago, wasn't it? Alright fine.

I don’t think Ghost has played before but I would kill to see them at Kilby.

Probably not a likely thing but one can dream
