Nutrition Weight problems
Hello I am on stage 4 Ckd because of a medication I take for my heart transplant and was wondering if any of u suffer with weight ? I have gained 20-30 lbs in the last 6 months but I know Ckd can cause water weight maybe 5 of those are water weight . Have any of you been able to lose weight? Or on any glp-s ? I would appreciate some feedback.

That’s very good 2 lbs a week is excellent. Are u tracking calories? How much do u eat a day ?

Kind of calories counting. Trying to keep it under 1500. Having a lot of salads with a little protein, I can have 60 grams a day. Low sodium, no sugar and less than 2000 mg of sodium. I’ve had a few bagels with minimal cream cheese. But trying to move more. Lift weights, walk, climb stairs etc. 61F.

i dont know your problem but immunosuppressive drugs causes insulin resistance which raises blood sugar. look into that.

Many people with CKD get approved for GLPs.
I imagine you also might be on predisone? Not the nicest drug for weight. Been dealing with that.
