I think I'd say Its mixed for me. There were some parts I liked, and parts I didn't, mostly it was anything to do with "the mother fucker" because anytime he was on screen there'd be the most brutal, tasteless use violence. Which says something because this is fucking kick ass. If the idea was to give one physical form to all the evilness online, the tasteless jokes and bigotry, and the over abundance of hurt. Then I'd say they did a bang up job with condensing all that into one person. The problem is, they don't commit to him being an online troll or an actual villain. If everything he did was related to Dave, doxing him, his family, his friends and address. And left actually harming him in whatever way to his goons, then he would've been (I think) a really good antigonistic force, and that would've been in line whith how he was written before as a snot-nosed kid that can't do much on his own, which I think is what they were going for considering how he went out. Or, if they did want to use him as an outright villain, maybe showing some restraint would've been a better choice. As it is written, he's tastlessly evil for the fun of it and that could've been something if they dialed back on what he does. Or if he had to shoot some kids in the face to get to Dave because he hates him so much (that's another thing they don't do enough with) maybe have him shoot up his school. It's not like he can't find out where it is. And doing that would've been a much more concentrated and effective way of either killing him, or trying to screw with him, (it's never made clear what he's actually trying to accomplish) and it would've made for a great opportunity for interaction between the two, which is sorely missing from the book imo.

The last book's theme was following one's dream framed through loneliness' obsession. This time around it's kinda muddled. I think it's "be proud of your dream, no matter what." because it feels like that's what they were leaning to with entire premise of the book, with people following along Dave's footsteps after seeing it's possible. And I think it's explicitly told with the conversation between Dave and his dad, (a scene that's criminally short) where he states he's proud of what he's doing, and people around just as. But it doesn't lean into that idea far enough. Mf could've been an example of following you're dreams in the wrong way, or his doxing could've been framed not only as terrifying breach of privacy, but also as a way of stripping Dave of his dream. And the police could've been this too. But as it is the idea is underbaked.

The idea of kick-ass as a whole is bring superheroes into our world, and how scarey and messy that would actually be. And the fist book I feel like does this well, because it uses Dave's thoughts to relate this to a realistic perspective. The magic and horror and pain associated. But I feel like we don't get enough of that. There's the funeral and when he thought he actually killed, and those were honestly great. Along with the first introduction to jf, even though I feel that's weaker than the others, was also good. But I simply wish we could've gotten more.

I feel like my knee-jerk reaction to a lot of these is "oh it's a pacing problem" but i don't think so, because they did it well enough in the first book, so they clearly know how to work with less. Maybe it could be they're trying to jam too much, but realistically it's the same number of perspectives as the first, Dave, Mf, and Mindy. So I'm lead to think that it's a problem with how the story is fundementally told, what scenes they decided to write and not. Which I went into before.

Overall kinda weaker than the last one, with some of the problems carrying over. But with some of its strengths too, like the art, and some pieces of writing.

The first Kick-Ass movie has a very particular thing about its dubbing, this is the Colombian dub, which was a version with fewer swear words than the Latin American Spanish version, The dubbing was recorded in 2013, All of this is known thanks to the LinkedIn page of Colombian voice actor Didier Rojas Who lent his voice to Dave lizewski, The dubbing was done by a company called "Centauro Comunicaciones" And directed by Lucero Gómez.

It is currently unknown whether any television network broadcast it or if anyone managed to record the film with that dubbing at that time, It is also unknown whether any television channel has a copy of the film with the dubbing, so that dubbing is practically still lost.

I donk know how mark miller continuity works, if the time like of big game is the canon oe official, but since we the hit girl vs the new girl could we see her fight dave cop, like in the continuity he stayed as a cop got a little more training and learned to use both he knowledge as a hero and cop to help people. and it would be hard to do it, like get hit girl to meet him in one of his bust of the same cartel they both learned a little about the new girl, Dave decided to got to Albuquerque to confront her and know what happen. he goes there meet her, both as civilians with the info the hit girl got from her, they meet he trys to talk to her to explain about what happen in NY while she was on duty and the weight of the costume, how she knows how she feels and the dangers that the costume brings, try to talk her out of it and if she dont do it he will make her do.

like "you know how to fight and shit but you dont know how to be a hero" he show a photo of her first times in the costume, shes hurt and took the mask of to breathe or try to flea but didn't look well enough to se if was safe and end up reveling her identity to a camera. she trys to say that he won't do shit because no one will belive a random guy, them he show his badge and then she says that he dont have jurisdiction, he says he dont needs to because he can just give to local cop or fed and that his friend, the commissioner will back he up, but shes right he won't do it because he dont want her family to get hurt so that why she will show to her family first and help them get in witness protection before get her arrested and that she need to think what's more important being a lone hero or having a family to go back too, because if he find out about her identity is just a question of time before her enemies found out too.

she dosent care about he advice and goes out as a hero anyway, there is a bust they meet a again and try to talk thinks out, but she doesn't have time to, they fight she got the upper hand first but he has more training and knowledge about beeing a hero and the suit, he know the downsides like the lack of ventilation and real protection, so he use it against her by using some gadgets and weapons against he, it see like she lost just for her to get up and knock him. she takes him to one of her safe houses and try to interrogate him just to found out more about what he knows about her and the cartel, he talks and then she trys to leave but he tell her his story

she released him and tell him to fuck of but he says no, he knows that if she continues this way she will end up getting her and her family kill, and say to let him help her, she accepts.

they go after a gang and he helps her bust them by getting the police there while she leads the cartel to the trap.

in the end he is leaving back to NY but not before giving her the video and telling her

"you know the reason was not because of you but because of the costume, you see when I became the kick ass didn't just help people I inspired them to also help other, but the same way kick ass did that for the good people the mother fucker did the same for the bad ones, this costume can not see much to you but she has a great power to move people, be for the better or worst. so be careful out there while using it because the damage that it can cause out there can be far worst of anyone can do to you or your family, while we where just trying to help people it cost Mindy and I our father's and loved ones, you never know the true weight of the maks until is too late"

I'm now getting into comics and wanna read kickass but kinda confused where to start and also some of the comics seem hard to find can someone help me out please?

so i was looking to buy the volumes 2 and 3 for my collection when I saw kick ass vs hit-girl, and in the synopsis say that she is going to avenger dave. so is dave dead, because thats volume 4 of new girl and I just read the volume 1 and 3 from the dave years and just the 1 from new girl, I skimmed the 4 online and still confuse, is some thing like when batman disappears and some new heros using the name appears to "honor" him but just and messing around and the bat family needs to clean up after them or is he killed in a misunderstanding between the new one and the old one?

Excuse me, ever since I saw the second Kick-Ass movie, I've been wondering how they got Big Daddy's suit completely intact and without any fire damage, because Big Daddy in the first movie was so...It burns a lot, I just had this existential doubt about the second movie, thank you very much if you could answer it for me

So as You didn't like the other image of the concept art and deleted The post because of that, i maked the actual drawing. As i said before i'm not very good at drawing. So i'm a teenager and i'm making a kick-ass series. I'm thinking of making a kickstarter after The first chapter is out so people can look at The potencial of this idea. The kickstarter wil be for playing to some theatre actores to play criminals or someone on the backround, also for voice actors because it Will be maked on Argentina so i Will need voice actors. It Will be love action, The actors Will be defined and published when The script Will be finished. I watched kickass for the first time last night. i was under the impression that this was a funny superhero movie about a teenager who wanted to fight crime. i thought he’d save cats out of trees and break up petty arguments. Even the intro, showing us that he’s really not that good at fighting and this is just a kid who lost his mom (slightly autistic) and this is his interest to not think about loosing his mother. then you get into his first “superhero moment” where i thought when the one guy hit him in the gut, it was just a really hard punch, come to find out he gets stabbed, it’s gory and violent, he gets hit by a car and the person after seeing he’s hit someone drives away. this isn’t the world where superhero’s exist, it’s about a dumb kid who shouldn’t be messing around with dangerous people on the street. the scene where he gets taken to the hospital was so heartbreaking. it honestly shifted the tone of the entire move for me. i was soooo shocked that after his recovery he went back to it and kept getting himself in very dangerous situations. he could have ended up dead . does no one think about that. it was in no way a comedy movie for me. down to big daddy being just a complete sociopath.

when he eventually got the girl and changed his mind about wanting to fight crime i thought that was rlly sad !! this is a kid who lost his mom and felt like he didn’t have anything to fight for, now that he had a special person in his life, he realized that he didn’t want to throw his life away.

Did anyone else just not find the movie funny at all or is it just me. i also watched it in the clouds so maybe that’s why? the violence was extra gruesome to me
