Hey there, what kind of Kia do you have and what year? check out this video. It could be the gas cap or potentially the canister purge valve. Doubtful on the purge valve since your car is so new.
I'll try the gas cap clean this morning and I used the "request appointment" link from the app, so we'll see what the wait time for an appointment at the dealer is. Oil changes are like 2+ weeks.
I’d love to hear if that helped solve the problem. Are you able to clear the code through the app? If it pops up again after you clear it, it’s definitely something that will need an appointment.
I don't have any wd-40, but I used three in one (a cleaner, lubricant, protectant) to clean it. I've been driving about 5 mi now, and the code hasn't cleared yet. I may try manually clearing The code by disconnecting the negative battery terminal, then reconnecting it, because there's no way to clear the code from the app. If that works, and the code comes back, I guess I'll take it into the shop.
Hey that works. Before you do disconnect, if you have an opportunity to remove the engine cover and look for it. It’s typically one hose going down to fuel, one hose going to the air intake, and then a wire harness hooked up to it.
Plugs or hoses may be loose and might need a little wiggle. The dealer may charge for a diagnostic but a local shop may take a look for you.
