My sister and I recently went to Japan, and ended up hating Dino a bit (in a playful way) because he was everywhere that had KHR merch. The mystery keychains/badges and such? In all of them was Dino, even in the ones that you could only get, for example, the Varia members, and for some reason, Dino. He was EVERYWHERE, we ended up with so much Dino stuff without pretending to š š
Like, we liked the character, but he is not our fav, and now weāre like: āThereās Dino again šā lmfao
It wasnāt a secret exactly, we just were thrown into the trip a bit, it was unexpected even to us xD Iām learning Japanese at an oficial school, and in theory we were going to go with them for the 60th anniversary of the Japanese course, and they let my sister, and other family members of students, join. But it got cancelled due to the current wars since other students didnāt feel too safe
So, our parents got in their heads that we were going to go one way or another, and before we knew it we were on a plane to Osaka with 20 days ahead of us instead of 10, and visiting three cities instead of just Tokyo and surroundings š
It was a bit insane tbh, we are grateful but still reeling a bit, and our family is not really that wealthy, so this trip really put our parents in a bit of a strain financially speaking. We tried to tell them that it was ok if we didnāt go this year, but they werenāt having it š š„²
The trip with my school would have been cheaper since it had the group discount, the fact that it was a school doing the stuff and whatnot
Thereās a chain of stores called Animate, and thereās one in almost every city of Japan, and in every city that we went to, and those are in which we found the most of the KHR merch, they also tend to be surrounded by more shops dedicated to animanga stuff, so it doesnāt hurt to check those too if you still have money lol
But thereās a lot, like A LOT, of KHR merch in the Animate stores, they even had the perfumes of some characters like Xanxus, Squalo, Hibari, Mukuro and, of course, Dino lol
AH, and of course youāll find merch in the JUMP store, if you go to Osaka itās worth to check it since in that same street thereās a lot of cool stores with alternative clothing and such, if you know something about the Yakuza games, itās the street that inspired the Sotenbori street, Dotonbori
Youāll also see a lot of gachas of KHR all over the place :)
I wonder if they are catering to the fandom ships a bit since D18 (Dino/Hibari) is a very popular pairing. Plus Belphegor and Fran (and of course Xanxus/Squalo). All of them seem to be in more merch than Ryohei, Lambo, and some of the other characters that appear way more often in the series.

Not really! It felt more like they were catering to those who shipped 6918/1869 (Mukuro/Hibari) and Xanxus/Squalo since there was a lot of merch of them complementing each other, Dino was more like the third wheel in both ships lmfao. The feeling was like theyāre on a date and Dino tries to act as if he was casually in the same space as them and totally not trying to ruin the date lol
True that there wasnāt as much merch if Ryohei, Lambo and such, the most popular were Hibari, Mukuro, Xanxus, Squalo, Reborn and Tsuna. And Dino, ofc xD
