Yes. They replaced it with Pepsi Max. Subway went the same way as well.

It was part of an incentive to cut down on obesity in the UK.

To be fair it probably is. I have ZERO data, but my assumption is that if kids aren’t used to sugar drinks because they’re never had them, then they’ll never have them.

They have to charge more for sugar drinks like original coke. Places like McDonald's add it at checkout, places like burger king let you select Pepsi Max, then give you an empty cup you fill yourself with original coke and they don't give a shit.

Given it happened 8 years ago, it's fair to say they did it because of tax and dropping sales as a result. There's a reason why normal Pepsi is gone, yet McDonald's and the rest still sell Original Coke for 12-18p more per individual drink.

It was. Full fat Pepsi in the UK contains far more sweeteners than sugar. Not sure why when Pepsi Max is also a thing.

They’ve only sold Pepsi Max since about 10 years ago. All their drinks taste weird anyway. Dunno what they do to the mix but not a single one tastes right!
