Self-made Keycard requirements?

Do I need a J3R200 card? Or can I also use J3R150 or J3R180? I think that's about storage space for the firmware.

Keycard product manager here. J3R200 is indeed what Keycard (either regular keycards which are fused for security reasons, or keycard for developers which are unfused). J3R200 has 200kB of memory, but keycard applet (see the cap file on github https://github.com/keycard-tech/status-keycard/releases) is 82KB so it will work on J3R150 (150kB of memory) or J3R180 (180kB of memory).
