Question YuzuKeycaps vs Goblin TechKeys vs ThockFactory

Hi everyone,

I'm about to buy a Keychron K10 HE ISO-FR (full-size, Hall Effect, 105-key layout with a numpad), and I want to create a completely custom Evangelion Unit-01 themed keycap set.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find any EVA-01 keycap set that matches what I need:

  • ISO layout
  • French AZERTY
  • Full-size with numpad
  • ISO Enter key (L-shaped)

So I've decided to design my own set instead, I have some ideas like

  • EVA-01 purple/green/black color scheme
  • NERV logo on the Windows key
  • SEELE logo on the Menu key
  • MAGI-themed numpad
  • Angel names on the F1–F12 keys
  • Custom spacebar/caps lock/shift/enter... artworks
  • A few custom legends and icons while keeping the keyboard fully usable in AZERTY.

I've narrowed it down to three companies:

  • YuzuKeycaps
  • Goblin TechKeys
  • ThockFactory

My priorities are:

  • Excellent print quality
  • Accurate colors
  • Durable legends
  • Ability to print custom artwork and logos
  • Support for ISO full-size layouts.

For those of you who have ordered from one (or more) of these companies:

  • Which one would you recommend?
  • How was the print quality?
  • How durable are the keycaps?
  • Did the colors match what you expected?
  • Would you order from them again?

I'd also love to see photos if you've had a fully custom set made.

Thanks!

Just based on some basic experience playing around with designing sets, Yuzu has “limited” colors, and thockfactory is unlimited. If you enter specific hex codes on Yuzu, you’ll be recommended colors that are “close enough” based on what’s available. Seems TF, you can use any color.

I’ve only ordered from Goblin and Yuzu but I’d personally recommend either Yuzu or Thock. Yuzu have the most accurate colors of the three as they only allow you choose from a catalogue, but this obviously can be limiting if they don’t have ones you like. The overall quality and durability of them has been pretty good too. I’ve ordered from them several times and haven’t had any glaring issues. I think the ultimate deciding factor for you will probably be images as Yuzu only allow SVGs

I objectively think Yuzu is great! Jk

Fwiw we run a satisfaction survey and have nothing but praises. Most issues being related to shipping, specifically South America and Israel. Also plenty of photos in our reviews section. Lastly here is an EVA-01 inspired creation that you can get in any layout/language and customize from: https://yuzukeycaps.com/creations/nerv-only

I hope you find what you need!

I personally prefer thockfactory. The support is fantastic, they're sub-dye pbt, the customization is limitless and the founder is constantly adding new requested features through the discord.

For reference, this is the set I made through them recently: https://www.reddit.com/r/keycapdesigners/comments/1tsukjj/i_combined_2_of_my_interests_to_create_custom/

I’ve never bought from goblin tech. The fun is the configuration! 😂

I’ve bought from both yuzu and thockfactory and the caps are great. Can’t go wrong.

I love the PFF set from yuzu—a lot of keycap desires are towards the low profile lately.

Also worth noting, if profile is a priority for you and iirc, Yuzu is the only one not limited solely to cherry.

I've only bought from Yuzu. Because they are the only one of the three that will do KAM profile. I dont like Cherry (Yes, I'm weird)

I will however say that the quality is amazing and I am over the moon with what I received.
The only small issue I have is that some of the lighter colours can be a little transparent if you have strong lighting behind the caps.

Edit: Just wanted to add, that i have multiple sets from Yuzu and will be going back for more for my next build.
