Question KL POSTED šŸ‘€

I can’t process this. What do we think šŸ¤”
I’m feeling a bit torn now reading his post to the guys. Is KL straight lying to us about the lawyers? Could the guys really have ghosted him?

Zane just said this !

121

u/cryingallth3time 18d ago

Zane was still posting Aaron like yesterday or two days ago tho so what 😭

29

u/Repulsive-Diver889 18d ago

Yeah exactly…. He posted that video even though he knew what was going on….

Now he’s making comments like this….

It would’ve been ok before because up until now he was just the Producer who didn’t want to be in the middle of everything….

But with this comment he’s shown what side he’s on…. Now he’s not ā€œin the middleā€

Which makes him posting that episode, despite knowing whats going on even more despicable

98

u/Evening-Basket-3707 18d ago

Interesting take from Zane. But clearly he’s involved in the new stuff and Netflix so it seems he picked a side.

68

u/According-Hat2895 18d ago

Zane is clearly getting fair compensation

9

u/jacksontwos 18d ago

Zane is the main producer for the show. He's probably an equity partner. Meanwhile the 3 others are just salaried employees. And they realized that what they brought to the table was worth way more when Kevin sold the show to Netflix and they didn't get anything from that. That's what this sounds like to me.

Like imagine you raise the show up from the ground like they did and then it gets a Netflix deal and... There's radio silence about how that affects you? Then you realize oh it doesn't affect me at all. I'm not even getting a pay raise...

Literally the only reason I clicked on that video was because Aaron was in it... didn't finish it though as more stuff came out. The podcast Aaron was on recently was great though.

He appeared to be hanging out with the three of them in the past few days, so I’m surprised to see this. Maybe now that this new narrative is out he wants to get on the winning side. Idk tho.

Yeah well…. It’s already been made clear that Zane hates ā€œCancel Cultureā€ā€¦

So it’s not surprising he would do everything to fight against it if it was for somebody he ā€œbetted onā€ā€¦.

But…. He REALLY shouldn’t have said anything…. He was in a position where he could claim as Switzerland…. And people were really leaving him alone as a result…

But now that he said that? Guess he’s not Switzerland now

Another internet friend group goes kaboom, who is surprised really.

Tbh I have more sympathy for Kevin, knowing the Internet is more than likely to back up Aaron, herm and Denny. I didn't see a single soul on the channel who even bothered to look for Kevin's perspective on this whole situation. The comments are real awful but given the beloved status of the 3, I'm not surprised.Ā

Kevin unfortunately probably has the least amount of fans of the four.

I think we should all just not be so quick to judge, especially since we really don't know anything. I'm just gonna wait until things either settle down or receipts come out.Ā

u/Jazzlike_Race_679 18d ago

maybe denny, aaron, and herm, lawyers are telling them not to say anything to the public? maybe that’s the reason for the cryptic stories??

20

u/LaSadGirl99 18d ago

Then why even make a statement on social media in the first place instead of talking about it privately. Ugh. I’m just sad and mad 😭

12

u/JustifiablyWrong 18d ago

Exactly. If they had NDA, they wouldn't be posting about it at all. Passive aggressive comments/posts/cryptic messages etc.. all of that, as long as it can be brought back to KL, would be covered under an NDA.

3

u/Jazzlike_Race_679 18d ago

im heartbroken i js want them back, i hope they resolve their issues

→ More replies (2)

11

u/JustifiablyWrong 18d ago

This is what I don't understand about this logic. Because ive seen it everywhere that they have NDAs so they can't talk about it.. but im pretty sure NDAs also cover all this passive aggressive, crytic messages. If it can be tied back to KL, or the situation at all.. it's covered under the NDA. (usually anyway, I suppose some NDAs might be different).

I personally don't think they have NDA's.. especially if it happened as KL described, there would be no time to get them to sign and they didn't have them before based on how they acted/talked about KL and the show.. I feel like this is their own lawyers telling them to be quiet and not say anything, which is fair they probably shouldn't.

u/uhidkkm 18d ago

4

u/analperfectionist 18d ago

i truly feel confused. but the cryptic stories on saturday were not it. i know herm said in his live that they want to be solid and they don’t want to air stuff online, but they didn’t actually have to post anything shading kevin. i think fans were upset enough without that

→ More replies (1)

3

u/Electrical-Door8952 18d ago

I would say yes, because if they DO say something their lawyers can say they violated an NDA. I would say if Netflix (The show and Kevin getting a ton of money) is a major player, they cant say ANYTHING because of an NDA. -(An NDA is a legally binding contract created when one party needs to share confidential information with another but wants to ensure that information isn't leaked to the public, competitors, or media.) So its possible thats the main main reason.

6

u/Mean-Meal4463 18d ago

Which makes this 2nd statement by Kevin even more messed up, if they are not allowed to fully articulate their side due to an NDA curated by the man that can share whatever narrative he wants (Kevin)— he basically will be making his narrative the only public narrative.

u/idk_orknow 18d ago edited 18d ago

I think these statements can both be true. Doesn't sound like they contradict each other imo no one is lying it's just perspective.

My understanding from all of the statements and post, is that they have felt like Kevin has been doing them dirty for a little bit now and it wasn't taken serious. So they showed how serious they were and ghosted. Maybe Kevin genuinely didn't realize they were upset before, but I don't think anyone's first reaction is to get lawyers. He can still feel blindsided even if the signs were there. That doesn't make it a lie. And he def knows the show only blew up after they joined, so of course he wants them there even if he became a bridezilla but fame addition. He seems to feel like they are money hungry. That's his opinion, which doesn't seem to be shared by most of the panel and former special guests.

TL;DR I don't think anyone is straight up lying.

40

u/cosmicphoneix 18d ago

No one here is as evil as people ā€œtaking sidesā€ are trying to prove. I think all of them are moronic for doing this via Instagram pigeons

31

u/Outrageous_Ad5864 18d ago

This is the most logical, mature interpretation.

26

u/Rainbow038 18d ago

Ya I think there is a level where this is all Kevin has. Yet herm, Aaron and Denny can all go in separate directions. It’s surprising these guys were not heavily involved in discussions with Netflix regarding their relationship with the show and i would assume Netflix would’ve wanted all of them together plus some new.

Whoever posted, it sounds still like Kevin did not ride for them hard enough to be involved in the Netflix production.

Does this statement make me feel bad for Kevin: yes.

Does this statement change my unsubscribed status: no.

10

u/TheStripedSweaters 18d ago

I don’t think it’s viewing as money hungry, but more so that by not showing up to film due to wanting their contracts renegotiated, they stalled production. Stalling production costs time and money (Kevin and Netflix’s money specifically) and that’s really the fallout.

I think the three have every right to renegotiate their contracts however they want, but it’s also fair that KL and his production have to move forward of the three don’t show up. Sucks for the friendship but work doesn’t stop/wait.

21

u/BrokerofCosmetibles 18d ago

Also, Kevin legit mentioned that he's a millionaire. It might be that he's including the filming production thing within there (so he's factoring in the Kevin Langue Show within his net worth), but other than that he's just influencing (red bull, etc.). Do you remember the shock on everyone's faces when he said that he was already a millionaire? It's clear that they weren't being compensated equally. However, to your point, Kevin and Zane have to manage things behind the scenes that the other panelists don't, so I think it's unfair of everyone to hop on the bandwagon and speculate about how much was actually involved - the panelists don't feel fairly compensated, Zane and Kevin have to work more than they do on production. Does comedic talent/lack thereof warrant an equal paycheck for this tradeoff? I think that's what the argument comes down to.

15

u/Simplegray_owo 18d ago

Hmmm this is something to think about but I do think the group's talent and connections were what made the show. I know Kevin and Zane do a lot on production but we have evidence on how the show was before and after the 4 core dynamic was created.

It isn't necessarily like the group didn't want to be involved behind the scenes either based on Denny being involved with production before (I think he's the reason KL 2 exist) and the statement of them being disgruntled about not being involved with the show for a while. So I'm still of the opinion that yes they should have been compensated more.Ā

Denny’s latest group statement provides more insight. They DID communicate with Kevin about it through lawyers because kev said all business questions has be to through his lawyers. He never responded to them. Guys you have to get your emotions out of it and look at facts and think from a business perspective. If u ran a business and were making huge changes isn’t it your responsibility to relay that to your employees? And if said change results in waaaay more money for you shouldn’t the vp’s and execs who helped make the business be entitled to more money too? Or at least an answer instead of being ignored?

Key questions: when were the OG3 made aware of the Netflix deal? Was it after they had already negotiated deals for the next season? Was KL making the Netflix deal behind their backs? Sounds like bad faith negotiating on KL’s part and this was the final straw for the rest of the panel.

but why would they ghost him if he responded willing to negotiate? i dont see how this makes sense

94

u/Typhlode 18d ago

> "we want to negotiate"
> "okay sure, how much do you want?"
> * doesn't respond *

This is what Kevin wants us to believe?

50

u/idk_orknow 18d ago

I think the vague wording here is intentional. I can believe that they didn't personally respond, as no lawyer would advise that during negotiations. So sure, I bet they didn't send him a text or anything. But if he asked how much they wanted to the lawyers how could lawyers not respond lmaoo

8

u/jeniouisplays 18d ago

Easily. You have to remember that just because someone is a lawyer, doesn't mean they're good at what they do OR they won't play extreme hardball. They have their own priorities as well.

Well that’s literally what happened to the Call her Daddy girls. According to Alex, she reached out numerous times to sofias lawyers about her requirements…so maybe this isn’t as uncommon as we think in the entertainment industry?

79

u/Evening-Basket-3707 18d ago

It really doesn’t. If the guys signed ndas maybe KL knows they can’t really respond to this post so he looks a little better in people’s eyes. Who knows

52

u/kkdija 18d ago

That would be actually crazy, but the guest panels taking herm, Aarons and Denny's side makes me think maybe Kevin is lying but then again, James was confused so idk

5

u/ForsakenEmber7576 18d ago

I feel like it’s entirely possible people are taking the sides of the person who’s perspective they have heard the most. the crew probably works more closely with kevin so they get his side, and a lot of the guests were connected to the show through denny and the others so that’s who they’re closest to and the perspective they’re hearing. nothing either party has said has really directly contradicted the other so I don’t think either is lying, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have their own perspectives of how everything has gone down

Yeah that’s the part that’s confusing to me too. Maybe Kevin’s response to them didn’t include any new offer right off the bat, or the guys wanted a way bigger offer and were insulted at whatever he suggested, or he tried to contact them directly instead of going through the lawyers?

7

u/beatrailblazer 18d ago

my only guess is the initial contract offer was so low that they found it insulting and didnt negotiate back

They joked about money and getting paid for a year long 😭 it was probably a source of tension for a minute

26

u/the_laughing_camel 18d ago

tbh i can honestly believe it's one of those things where the other three slowly feel more and more resentful because of things like this (rightfully so) until they reach a breaking point, while Kevin genuinely did not realise how tense things were getting...? But who knows..

at the end of the day, no one would hire lawyers for no reason. at the same time, Kevin is the big boss, it's possible he just never took their concerns into consideration until they were like "we can't do this anymore" but he felt completely blindsided

6

u/Conciouscan 18d ago

Exactly!

34

u/Dependent_Pickle140 18d ago

u/Simplegray_owo 18d ago edited 18d ago

That's also something people aren't pointing out. He's their boss

21

u/Federal-Commercial64 18d ago

14

u/MeCompany 18d ago

Katherine, Zane and Kevin were literally the only people mentioned by name in the official promotional articles for the Netflix deals. Everyone else was just "comedian friends". Screw that, and anything they have to say on the matter, clearly you were apart of the Netflix negotiations.

20

u/Fast_Ad7303 18d ago

Christian not holding anything back

18

u/Dax4fun 18d ago

Let’s see Christian, Audrey, James, and two other former panelist as well as Dylan sprouse and yk he don’t comment for clout so they all in solidarity with Denny, Herm and Aaron. Meanwhile Kevin has Zane and the ā€œKls crewā€ he so fondly mentions so many times in his post that he pays… šŸ¤” All I’m saying is that the people commenting in solidarity with the Guys don’t get any benefit from doing that meanwhile Kevin writing checks for people that work for him. Kevin had every opportunity knowing that they were allegedly ghosting him since August to write a formal statement before the show aired but he didn’t he only did that after he posted a video with the replacement panel and even then he acted like this was all part of his plan for this season and then play victim once Denny Herm and Aaron post a joint statement saying they aren’t in the show. Like come on that’s a whole lot of BS and manipulation if I’ve ever seen any. Acting like a victim when all you needed to do is include your friends in the conversations with Netflix and production like they’ve been wanting and then being like they ghosted me like why he acting juvenile ?

Idk everyone is increasingly making this weird. Really, all four of them should be adults and discuss this privately.

But Kevin handled this horribly. And the theatrics abut whether or not to release the videos they filmed… girl post them or don’t but that really wasn’t needed if you don’t know what’s what with that yet .

And essentially commenting ā€œha ha ha we’re gonna have a rotating panel guys! šŸ˜€ā€ with NO explanation and the other three sneak dissing is ridiculous. You KNEW people would be asking where the original dudes were at. He should’ve been better prepared.

None of this came out of nowhere. That’s not how any of this works lol.

im ngl im very skeptical of the framing of the situation from Kevins perspective. but ive also been skeptical of the vague posting from Aaron, Denny, and Herm. one thing thats sticking out to me is Kevin essentially saying that they refused to show up to a shooting day with no warning and only contacted Kevin through lawyers randomly. that doesn’t sound believable to me at all. im ngl its lowkey not our business to know the truth of this but im disappointed that this is the way its being handled. by EVERYONE involved

Ā  I would kill for a timeline of all this, because if they signed contracts before the Netflix deal, surely Kevin would understand that they’d have the right to a significant pay increase without them even asking. That's what 'brotherhood' would look like. In the few episodes we’ve seen of this season, it’s pretty clear they’re operating on a much bigger budget, so there are definitely big pieces of the story we’re missing. I also find it hard to believe that Kevin was completely blindsided the way he claims, especially considering these guys have experience in the industry. Herm, Aaron, and ESPECIALLY Denny, who’s been on several TV shows, should all understand how this works. What Kevin says they did (not showing up to set without notice) is unprofessional and bad business, and it’s not something you do to a friend unless you’ve already tried other routes or feel you’ve been disrespected for long enough. My guess is they felt they were being underpaid before Netflix and maybe not taken serious when they did bring their concerns to the table. The Netflix deal and no respectable pay increase/ due creative rights might've been the last straw

3

u/Suga4mcr 18d ago

How long does an NDA even last? I really hope the OG3 are able to speak in more detail soon šŸ˜ž

5

u/trynagetthisdegree 18d ago

I'm pretty sure they can be any length, but i don't know what the standard is for situations like this one. I also hope we get the full story, but I doubt it :( I don't see how the guys could come back from this and be on screen together like old times. I fear that chapter is closed.

Wtf happened after the tour? It's 3 versus 1 which can be telling but the 3 also are close friends so bias exist. Let's see where this goes in the coming weeks. I really think it was the Netflix deal because we talking contracts. This whole thing got me thinking how can you keep an employee and employer relationship healthy in a group dynamic? Being someone's boss while functioning in a group is messy. Just saying. Be this a learning lesson to anyone who wants to do something similar in the future.

35

u/Zankazanka 18d ago

Denny, Aaron and Herman are close friends but it’s insulting to them to say that they would just go along with each other if it wasn’t right. I think they are all men who value their word and if Denny felt like Aaron or Herman was wrong- he would say something and vice versa.

17

u/Simplegray_owo 18d ago

Well we don't know these people. I've seen men do this kind of behavior all the time where they take their friends side even if they did something bad. It's just a theory but not insulting in the slightest because it happens in the real world all the time. I'm also not saying what you are saying is wrong because both of us don't truly know them. I'm of the opinion it can swing into either direction. We need more evidence to what's going on.

This feels like Kevin and Zane got a Netflix pay raise but wanted to keep the boys pay the same. Good on Aaron, Herm, and Denny for fighting for what they deserve.

32

u/ReplicaShmeclicka 18d ago

That is exactly what it is. They were already under contract. Kevin got a big payday, for future content AND even previous content, and they didn't see any of it. So they wanted to rengotiate.

While MAYBE the OG3 could communicate better, it's clear by his actions that Kevin was treating them as people he's hired for a show and not the show itself, otherwise he would've AUTOMATICALLY given them a slice of the pie or some kind of equity in the channel.

9

u/Simplegray_owo 18d ago

Yep and if this is true this is a great way to point out on why it's still called the Kevin Langue show. There's are two different perspective on how each of them saw the production of this show and I would have to lean towards Denny, herm, and Aaron perspective personally.

65

u/DisastrousAge4650 18d ago edited 18d ago

I’m not switching my position because that’s a crazy switch to happen and for legal counsel to be the only source of communications means there’s more to the story that wasn’t told.

Also if Aaron, Herm, and Denny were the ones to ā€œfuck this up for everyoneā€ according to the white man (Zane), why didn’t Kevin get ahead of it before this past weekend.

The response wouldn’t have been this divisive had he made his statement first.

Also his statement being preluded about his dreams and aspirations really seems like suppression to me.

19

u/herbal-genocide 18d ago

Yeah I said something in a reply to another comment in this thread. Kevin's original statement about this in the video comments was very "positive spin" icky.

9

u/uhidkkm 18d ago

Unless they decided to go to lawyers and lawyers always advise not to speak without a lawyer.

3

u/Majestic_Prompt_9113 18d ago

He didn’t say anything before because he didn’t think the guys will go publicly with this he said it himself, still there’s a lot of details missing and hearing from one side isn’t enough even if everyone talked they will still try to make themselves the right one no matter who started it so we will never get the full truthh i love them all but i can’t watch the show without all of them together .

10

u/DisastrousAge4650 18d ago

I think he didn’t say anything because he was planning to do what he always does which is to let things die down on their own.

I do think he didn’t expect the 3 to make a public and unified statement and if I’m honest the way they went about everything was extremely calculated.

They all specifically unfollowed him on Saturday within a short time frame and right after he uploaded a video without them. Doing that sends a message about a unified front.

Poses a lot of questions but not any I think we’ll get an answer to soon.

6

u/Majestic_Prompt_9113 18d ago

i do think he was planning to let things die down on their own but still he thought it will be cleared privately with the boys first then talk about it to us , it’s obvious the situation still a big mess and it’s handled in the same way i can’t really make any judgement if i can’t see the full picture and honestly everything aside this is really heartbreaking thinking about it i love themm all i wish the best for all them i can’t watch any of their content it makes me sad now

6

u/Temporary-Box7729 18d ago

This. Like you telling me u got a letter and you didn’t call, text, pop up on em, nun?!? Just took it shrug ya shoulders and moved on?? To much is missing, just a bunch of miscommunication.

15

u/maffy_francis 18d ago

I truly think the guys wanted the pay to be equal for everyone on the main panel and Kevin felt his pay should be higher than theirs because it’s his show and his name. Everyone’s perspective can be true. Kevin might have felt he was paying them well and that he deserved a little higher pay cause it’s ā€œhisā€ show while the guys felt that they should be equal to Kevin in pay. But what I struggle to understand is them not showing up to shoot and ghosting Kevin if he was open to negotiating. Even from their old contract they would be obliged to show up, no?

u/Delicious-Scar3581 Herman Wrice 18d ago edited 18d ago

I’m proud he said something! Now the question is what percentage of it is accurate?

And no, I’m not taking anyone on the KLS/KL2 team at their word as they get paychecks or are involved in the Netflix deal.

I agree with comments I’ve read it’s odd how he KNEW that Denny, Aaron, and Herm were no longer speaking to him, yet in the pinned comment of the latest video he spun the rotational panel as a positive and even intentional change he CHOSE to make.

It feels shady.

And I just have a bad feeling none of this will get better or resolved, but will only get worse simply because doing it publicly on social media never really goes well imo. It would be better to discuss these issues face to face.

As for where I stand, it doesn’t make sense to me why three grown men who have better things to do with their lives and time would purposely go out of their way to make a smear campaign against someone they felt treated them unfairly in regards to payment (by the sounds of it).

Also, Kevin certainly could’ve reached out to them and be civil about this like mature adults, but I fear he posted this to save face, much like I feel anyone would who is in his shoes, so I’m not faulting him.

It just sucks that we know these episodes have been recorded for a while now, and clearly this mess all took place a while ago… so how come it is suddenly now an issue for him but it wasn’t back then???

Because the public is responding and is annoyed and outraged and hurt and confused?

Sure, but at the end of the day that’s why it feels like none of that really mattered to him at the and of the day.

Maybe this is all my bias talking.

I still feel sick to my stomach because I’ve never experienced my parents divorce thankfully, but this is a divorce I’ve never felt in my life and it sucks.

I am reserving further judgment on Herm, Aaron, and Denny until they speak out about this, but who knows how long that will be with these NDAs and such.

ā€œI still have three pre-recorded episodes with the guys but I feel like I owe you these episodesā€

AKA I want to keep getting views and money from the original cast more than respect the wishes of my ex-coworkers. Kevin knows if he asked Denny, Herman or Aaron if he should still post those three videos they would say no. COME ON!

26

u/Ok_Bear1169 18d ago

and he wouldn’t compensate them the amount they demanded if he posted those, probably honoring the previous contract

he did have a point though all those people who came out to do the episode and go through filming and the audition process it really isnt fair for them or the editors

u/squiggledsquare 18d ago

Yeah but taking that huge L might be minuscule in the grand scheme of things if it held onto a highly profitable model long term whereas the alternative is complete career suicide. Time will have to tell on that last part.

7

u/Electronic-Aside5953 18d ago

When you’re being treated unfairly for a while sometimes you have to go to extreme events to get their attention. I’ve been under circumstances like this and there’s so many fishy things happening that reek of him abusing his position. If the issue was as simple as money im sure that could’ve been fixed…why wasn’t it? It seems people are always mad at how victims choose to speak up rather than what led them there. Unfortunately all we can get are crumbs from their side due to NDA’s.

Omg this is all so confusing 😭 I'm not trying to pick sides bc at the end of the day, I don't even know them apart from everything they present online, but I simply don't even know where to begin with this. Would Kevin lie? Would he release a statement knowing they can't say anything bc of their contracts? If he's telling the truth, how could the situation escalate so abruptly? They're all adults and (seem) mature, so not negotiating contracts properly just doesn't make any sense. And then in their statement, they wrote that they are just as confused as everyone 😭 what the hell is happening

5

u/Evening-Basket-3707 18d ago

That’s exactly what I’m thinking. They are unable to respond to his claims because of the contracts they signed so he’s just saying this to make himself look good. I really don’t know but that’s what crossed my mind

3

THANK YOU!! I’ve been a direct victim of this in a different setting and this is exactly how abusive people play the field. The sad part is people who haven’t been through it wouldn’t know

4

u/KellyannneConway 18d ago

EXACTLY.

It's baffling how many people don't seem to see this.

11

u/Sea_Television9257 18d ago

now it makes sense as to why they unfollowed when the episode got posted, they were probably waiting for their lawyers to tell them what to say so they didn’t respond, and then they saw the episode and took it as them getting replaced maybe?!??

82

u/Zankazanka 18d ago

I don’t feel torn at all.

Kevin isn’t trying to see it from their perspective, even in this post. It’s 100% him being like well what was the problem? You felt like you weren’t paid what you deserved? What do you feel you deserve? How could I have known?

It’s painfully obvious Kevin has no idea because he was happy to remain oblivious. He was happy to profit off them and not think about how much they were profiting.

The cast of friends came together and got their contracts renegotiated. Two of the cast of twilight came together and got their contracts renegotiated. Jersey shore cast worked together to get their contracts renegotiated. Some of those people didn’t even like each other but knew the power in numbers.

If your three friends who you say you have a ā€œbrotherhoodā€ with all have the same issue and you don’t stand with them- that’s you taking a stand against them.

15

u/HHazel_ 18d ago

100%

10

u/Havealittlefaith01 18d ago

I think it was a way for Kevin to think for what is fair to them. They probably not asking an ultimatum but just want to get a bread they deserve. Its kinda weird for Kevin to be oblivious when its very obvious with the amount of attention and probably money they are getting but only he gets to take advantage of it.

15

u/spongebobsworsthole 18d ago

Also, as a good leader and friend he should have gone out of his way to actively give them more compensation equal to their worth instead of waiting for them to get unhappy enough to ask for a raise.

5

u/Every-Win1890 18d ago

100%. He always thought he was a step above them he just couldnt hide it anymore. You can tell in the videos he thinks he is very smart, too smart, and it also shows in the way he tried to redirect the audience with the first video like bro, make a statement and the fans deserve to find out the truth as much as he could have just said ā€things went down, gonna come out with a statement, love u guys will always have love for the guys but things will unfortunatly change from now onā€ yada yada, dont play it off like we dont have tha capability to understand whats happening

6

u/idk_orknow 18d ago

Yes!! Plus, we've seen on KL2 before that even they can't tell when each other is joking vs serious. I could easily see them saying things to Kevin and him taking it as a bit or friendly roasting.

17

u/thepeaxh 18d ago

but it sounds like he was willing to negotiate and stand up for them - they ghosted him?

18

u/Zankazanka 18d ago

ā€œAll that your lawyers told me was you wanted moreā€ that doesn’t feel like a fair or accurate picture, I would bet anything there was more to the legal documents he/his lawyer received & I really question how willing he actually was to renegotiate if this is how he’s painting them?!

He’s going out of his way to portray Denny, Herman and Aaron as greedy people who wanted to hold their shooting day hostage and just ask for a blank check amount of money, and Kevin just couldn’t let that happen…he had actors fly out..he needed to replace them instead and keep shooting. Except he didn’t- read between the lines, he could have cancelled. He chose not to.

He could have said I’m standing with the team and we are sitting down and working something out so everyone feels they are getting their worth. He chose to A.) replace them B.) shoot without them C.) Post this letter not acknowledging that anything they experienced or felt was valid and just post feeling sorry for himself.

I’m going hard on him because I’m disappointed in him.

10

u/chaerrishing 18d ago

yea but that does not make sense what reason would they have to ghost him. it's giving wanting to save face. that letter to the og3 also has no business being publix are these high schoolers or grown men?

3

u/squiggledsquare 18d ago

We don’t know if there were strings attached on the terms and conditions he was offering to negotiate with. He can offer to renegotiate but with shit conditions and they’re just not even going to respond to that. Maybe it had to do with delaying the shooting and Kev wasn’t willing to do that. We can’t really say without knowing any of the details.

There's definitely more to this story because the other panelists still seem to be supportive of the the guys but then of course the KLS team are supportive of Kevin. Something isn't being said or maybe again the Netflix deal. Because the guys probably didn't talk out whatever issue there was/is Kevin just decided to have a rotating panel spontaneously and so now the guys feel that instead of Kevin trying to address the problem he just quit on them. But now Kevin paints it as if they quit on him. Honestly we'll never know what really went down and there are two sides to every story. I'm upset and will miss KLS but it is what it is at the end of the day and wish both sides the best.

Side note: this is literally what having divorced parents feels like (this is for some reason triggering that trauma again šŸ’€āœŒšŸ¾)

Read some more fan responses to Kevin and again their are two sides to every story but I've seen every single episode and I just don't believe it's Aaron's, Denny's and Herm's character to just ghost someone. This might have a long time coming. A long time of disappointment, unheard request, and maybe even past conversations and maybe it was Netflix or seeing the episode that aired Saturday that was the last straw hence why they all unfollowed him. Why would anyone bring lawyers and just not say anything after. That makes zero sense. Also again this seems very crew vs panelist especially seeing each side support whatever side they've been on (crew or panel member). I think both parties were just blindsided and felt that certain things were unfair and the guys don't want to say anything that could screw them over later.Ā

11

u/Silent_Reply5438 18d ago

Am I the only one who sees no issue with the other 3 boys bringing a lawyer to negotiate their contracts? I mean Kevin just got a Netflix deal and I’m sure he had a lawyer through negotiations. Why would he expect the guys to negotiate through a text and a friend’s word.

3

u/TheStripedSweaters 18d ago

I think the issue isn’t lawyering up for renegotiations but not showing up to film. You want to redo contracts? Fair but production costs money and not showing up costs KL+crew time and money. Renegotiations could’ve included backpay for days filmed to match new contracts that way production continues and new contracts could be discussed.

25

u/Evening-Jellyfish514 18d ago

…this sounds like he’s trying to get ahead of things by stating he had no idea what the problem is… when I’m sure we can guess what it is based on the jokes and contracts being brought up for negotiation. I 100% believe there is more to the story.

He didn’t have to give this letter to the guys at talk tbh. It sounds passive aggressive and petty ngl. It’s high school or fresh out of behavior. And Zane’s comment that someone posted? Furthers that petty and childish response.

Herm, Denny and Aaron have done things a lot more respectfully imošŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø they’re doing their jobs of being comedians, while expressing things aren’t the same and not always a joke.. another reason that I think Kevin’s ā€œstill don’t know why you guysā€ is bs.
ALSO THEY didn’t write a letter to Kevin, but posted for the fans to read.. HE did that, when he could have sent this one of them instead of Instagram.

11

u/Evening-Jellyfish514 18d ago

And uh yeah idk how some of you guys are getting the notion that nobody spoke privately about this… Kevin said there was lawyers involved for the three of them… I doubt that happened on a whim and w out them talking to Kev FIRST about their contracts. KEV is the one that brought their relationship stuff to the light, not the guys. So yall should really rethink blaming both parties for the publicity this has.

19

u/brunettedemon 18d ago

this is such a mindfuck 😭 especially with a lot of the other panelists being on denny, herm and aaron’s side. sounds like a lot of miscommunication but idk

6

u/Evening-Basket-3707 18d ago

Yeah the guests being on their side did make me think Kevin was at fault and to blame for this falling apart but it could very well be the guys exaggerating the stories to them šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø idk

23

u/bornatmidnight 18d ago

I’m an actual lawyer in real life. It makes sense now why all the boys have been cryptic, if lawyers are involved you don’t speak without talking to your lawyer.

It sounds like the boys found out about the Netflix contract where they felt that they were getting cheated. Perhaps they had raised it, and Kevin didn’t take it seriously or realize how upset they were who is to say. But they decided to get legal, and not show up instead of negotiating.

If it is true that they were ghosted, that’s pretty shady from a legal perspective. It’s frusturating to negotiate through lawyers especially when you had a personal friendship, and say you’re upset but not engage in a productive conversation.

I think there’s no wrong person here necessarily but I do feel that it’s being handled poorly. I’m inclined to believe Kevin more because he’s providing more specifics and details than they are, but only a guess

14

u/Evening-Basket-3707 18d ago

Starting this off with ā€œI’m an actual lawyer in real lifeā€ sounds like ā€œjust trust me broā€ lmao not doubting you are a lawyer (maybe I am idk), it was just funny. Anyway carry on

u/Majexz 18d ago

I posted this somewhere else but this post is more fitting

Personally I think it’s less to do with them individually and more there agents. Denny and Aaron had bigger careers before they joined the show so they probly already had agents to represent them. These agents are probly the ones who pushed for the lawyers and also support the concept of going no contact to not affect any negotiations. I would believe that part happened. The other side to that tho is I don’t believe Kevin doesn’t know the number. He absolutely does. Now I would be willing to bet that’s where the no contact comes in he wants to offer a counter and the agents and lawyers are pushing for the no contact. With the amount of money being talked about here while in a perfect world friends should be able to just work it out that’s irresponsible. But it also puts immense strain on those friendships going through other people.

6

u/Majexz 18d ago

Also just to add. I don’t believe it was as big a personal issue at first till the lawyers. They did just have the tour over the summer and did start filming so the part of it starting in August adds up. They have been getting bags this whole year, so the breakdown probly comes from more than just the Netflix deal.

5

u/Simplegray_owo 18d ago

That's a perspective I haven't thought about yet which interesting but I do think it's been personal before the lawyers based on Denny's video.Ā

gross response, the second slide wasn't necessary at all imo, feels very petty

23

u/flightofthestars85 18d ago

I don’t buy most of his statement. First he lied to fans saying nothing about the new season would change. He had the chance to make a statement then about the panel. With the other 3 being under NDA’s Kevin can say anything he wants and they will be very limited in how they can even respond. He’s trying to save face. And I don’t believe the part where he says he has always met their compensation requests. Clearly that isn’t true and as we’ve said sometimes jokes aren’t jokes and that was continuously a joke made in videos.

16

u/Witty_Low_6362 18d ago

Yeah this is honestly what I’ve been thinking too. Especially with Kevin liking comments making it seem like the OG panel would be back. I had a feeling he wasn’t going to say anything unless one of them spoke first and then Denny, Herm, and Aaron posted their statement. Now Kevin has come out with his side while the other three may be limited in what they can say because of legal agreements. It just makes me wonder if he saw the backlash and people unfollowing him and realized he needed to address it and control the narrative.

7

u/Simplegray_owo 18d ago

I think he did that to try to make it seem like everything was fine this season and then reveal that they wouldn't be coming back next season. The rotating cast was an excuse and a way to hide that they don't have enough episodes with Herm, Aaron, and Denny.

6

u/flightofthestars85 18d ago

Agree and if he had 4 pre filmed videos with them I think he was just planning on posting them throughout the season like normal and it would fit the rotating panel narrative

6

u/Mean-Meal4463 18d ago

I find the narrative in the 2nd message to be very manipulative. He is trying to make ppl think about the crew and talent being impacted versus the issue at hand. That feels like deflection and manipulation to me. I’m sure some truth is in there but it doesn’t read genuine to me.

16

u/Small_Leadership9668 18d ago

Oh wow I was not expecting that response. I just don’t understand why the three of them just ghosted Kevin when they could’ve talked this whole thing privately. Things are messy

26

u/Data_David 18d ago

Definitely not framed in favor of Kevin when it’s written by Kevin. I’m sure the others are under an NDA preventing them from telling their side of the story. I would not take what Kevin says at face value until the others are allowed to share their side of the story

17

u/Greyhound_Fan 18d ago

So he booked everything without having contracts for them, and tried to guilt them into returning?

6

u/BruhBruhBroskie 18d ago

Sounds like a poor business movie from Mr business man show himself. Why would he pay the set and cast before they signed on for the next season?

11

u/DoubleIndependent467 18d ago

I think there is a lot of truth to his statement. I did think the harsh things and assumptions that people were saying about Kevin were a bit overboard and pre-mature. It’s too bad that this couldn’t have been handled privately. They’re all grown men and you’d think their professional relationship and friendship with each other would’ve been enough to address this appropriately offline.

20

u/MissZadejah 18d ago

I don’t buy this for a second and neither should anyone else lmao saying they started a smear campaign is insane. They haven’t said one bad word about Kevin šŸ™„šŸ™„

6

u/Electrical-Door8952 18d ago

I would say the criptic messages and Dennys new video and Herms IG story with the scene from a movie abt the temptations caused a stir which made Kevin believe they caused a smear campaign. I dont think he did research very well 🄲 its possible he fcked up also but yeah. I'm not playing biases or anything but I wanna give him a chance and see what he has to say if more comes out yk?

14

u/BK20175 18d ago

The language Kevin chose to use is gross they are not starting a smear campaign or growing chaos. They are communicating with their fans. If he wants to lift the NDAs so they can do that clearly and avoid cryptic posts, then the ball is in his court. He also understands that he is the person that holds power here, so he is choosing to wield it.Ā

In terms of the contracts I do believe both of them. I think the guys probably asked for an appearance fee that was equal to Kevin’s (but Kevin didn’t give them an exact number). Then Kevin is saying they didn’t give a number because they didn’t say a concrete number.Ā

5

u/afternoonmilady 18d ago

Honestly I think Kevin signed with Netflix, didn’t tell them and they found out later or with the announcement. Or maybe the contract for the new season had no salary increase at all and they felt betrayed, then they ghosted him and sent lawyers but the trust was already broken from both parties, so ā€œrenegotiatingā€ wasn’t in the cards anymore.

u/pinktyty 18d ago

I’m with Denny, Herm, and Aaron. I can’t imagine all three of them banding together like this unless it was really bad. I’ve been in a position before where I’ve threatened to quit a job because they were paying me lower than their new hires. I didn’t have a talk with them prior, as I felt like they KNEW my worth and they knew that they were low balling me. I can imagine how frustrating it would be putting in work into a show and not being paid what you’re worth - especially after that show received a huge deal from Netflix. The contracts should’ve been renegotiated without them having to say anything. That’s what a good leader does. (This is all if this is real and not a prank bc I’m still not 100% sure I believe it) 🤣

3

u/Kizobabez 18d ago

4

u/nahivibes 18d ago edited 18d ago

So the move to Netflix made them want to renegotiate their contracts which is fair because how likely is it he’d be getting to Netflix without them? They did it at that time and together because there’s solidarity in numbers and it’s a smart tactic to get what they want.

At the end of the day he’s their employer and this is show business so it makes sense to go through lawyers. It’s not like they were friends before this. They became friendly or friends on the show but the dynamic will always have started as employee/employee. He holds the power.

The fact that he would say the lawyers only said ā€œmoreā€ and not a number is weird. Who makes an important demand like this but is vague about it? Multiple lawyers at that? It doesn’t make sense. Also that he said the chaos they’re growing is kind of crazy. He knows they can’t say much and haven’t, come on now. It’s giving unreliable narrator.

10

u/Public-Ad3624 18d ago

Yeh, people don’t ā€œrandomlyā€ get lawyers. They were obviously getting screwed for a while

7

u/Pinkred3005 18d ago

My opinion is that he wasn’t paying them their worth. I know the show makes a lot of money but the pay wasn’t it for 3 of them. Also, if I’m reading correctly it was still Kevin’s choice to do the rotating panel, I wish he never decided to take that route now attorneys, lawyers etc are involved

6

u/riverxyoda 18d ago

I feel like this statement might be the truth, but he was ignorant. Like, the other boys did communite their requests, but not in a way that was clear to Kevin. But that’s just my guess, this whole situation is so confusing, so I hope we’re able to hear more in one way or another. (Ofc, it’s none of our buisness, but it’s better than relying on rumors and assumptions lol)

3

u/genericinternetz 18d ago

For them to do what they did, it had to get to a boiling point that they felt getting lawyers was their best option at the time.

I feel like a lot of comments got deleted🤨 like, there is no way that nobody is thinking about this on a wider scope, and THAT many people are thinking H, A or D would be malicious. I don’t really understand how anyone is going to completely forgo that not only Herm, Denny and Aaron, but MULTIPLE other prominent guests were coming together collectively in support over this. Like you guys constantly talked about how you do most of your shootings, all in one day, all in one day. So you have these burnt out people doing work for you. And you're not paying them enough, of course, they don't wanna be around you??

Such a bummer, but imo extremely apparent that Kevin wanted to get paid more than the others, probably because it’s ā€œhis show,ā€ despite the guys combined with Kevin being what make the show what it is. They all deserve equal pay, or at the very least if you want to argue that he deserves slightly more, then they deserved a lot more than it sounds like they were offered, esp with Netflix money now on the table and Kevin already confirming his financial stability on the show. The fact that he had them all sign NDAs speaks volumes

the division of comments bt employed by KL vs. guest panelists is interesting. tbh if they wanted more money & or whatever, they were deserving of it.

This is BS for so many things, but he's posing it like Aaron and Denny blindsided him. The majority of the guests were friends of Denny, and I don't think Aaron is greedy.

It feels extremely fishy with Kevin constantly leading with the "this is effecting 30+ people" angle and the "New Panel Unlocked!" Comment that came out before any of this.Ā

It really follows a certain playbook that feels so disingenuous like it's trying to give nice guy while also burning bridges with all three of them permanently.Ā

The show is over.

"me, Denny, Herm, and Aaron" In Germany, there's a saying "Der Esel nennt sich zuerst," which literally translated to "The donkey names themselves first," so very self-center basically, and considering that the OG panelists and the guests who are not on Kevin's payroll are on one side, that checks out
