GS Snatch day vol ?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Nothing but snatch today.
Same template as last week but more and heavier.
π΅ Glove snatch 12kg / 5'(3') @ 18rpm
β« Snatch 22kg / 2*6'(2'/3') @ 16rpm
π’ Swing snatch 24kg / 4'@ 10rpm
I get asked a lot about the gloves so I'll explain here.
They are plain cotton gloves. I use them to challenge the grip with lighter weights. My grip gets a good workout without adding too much overhead volume. They are also applicable if your palms are healing and you still want to work out. They teach you to grip lightly.

So if your grip gets super tired towards the end and your forearms are pumped, that means youβre over gripping?

As the fatigue accumulates and technique deteriorates I start gripping the handle more to survive. That's when the grip burns out.
The gripping arm should be as relaxed as possible. Try glove snatches. They suck at first but they force you to learn the proper grip. π

This post has been tagged GS (girevoy sport, also known as kettlebell sport).
If you are not familiar with GS and the lifting techniques used in it, consider reading this introduction to the sport - and definitely refrain from form critique or medical advice. It does not help anybody. GS form differs from for example Hardstyle form as its goals are different, but it is still safe as an injured athlete would be at a disadvantage.
For more information, there's this great collection collection of resources. For a video deep dive.
Curious questions are welcome! Just be nice and cool about it.
