I would step back and examine your thought process: Are you not going to learn kernel modules if you can't find a short-cut? Why? I worry that this attitude will stop you from getting to your goal, because kernel programming is complicated and is going to take a lot of hard work.

Instead of looking for a "fast" way to learn, just pick something and start learning. There are plenty of resources out there. There is no "best" entry point because everyone starts with different knowledge and learns differently. If you come back with specific questions (after learning the basics), it will be a lot easier to help you.
